Can anyone tell me if the Fiorano uses the same brake pads as a standard 355? I have the red brembo calipers. They are not gone yet but when the time comes I would like to get the best pads I can buy. Also any tips for good pads are appreciated.

Yes, they share the same size rotor, but the Fiorano has drilled rotors. :)

There are plenty of different types of brake pads out there mate. It all depends on your best suited application. :)

If you do some hardcore track work, there are "race" pads for that application, there some that don't bite so hard and the standard ones etc..etc..

So again it all depends on what your needs are. I don't track my car, so I will stick to using the standard Ferrari brake pads. :)

I am sure some will chime in and offer some brand suggestions for you. The EBC brand is very good and they come in different applications. :)

Thanks for your input Paps. I know I have drilled rotors. I just want to make sure that if I buy some pads they will fit to the calipers. I don't do any track driving. Just a weekend warrior on the streets. Nothing hardcore. Just like to have the ability to stop fast. Lots of idiot drivers out there. Might save me a front bumper. Of course it could mean a smashed rear bumper. I just like performance and the peace of mind that goes with it.
    Regards,
    Mike

Yeah, I was just sharing the difference between standard 355 rotors and the Fiorano rotors..........the drilled holes in them.:eek:

I will let the guys that use them chime in, but these EBC pads are pretty popular as are Porterfield RS-4 pads. :):)

Different colours denote the different applications with the EBC pads.:eek:

They also make green and maybe blue too I think. Check em, the reds sound like the go.

The size of the pads on the fiorno are the same as all 355's. I have 5/100. When I got the car with the stock pads with 5700 miles on the car the sqeeled when braking. I could not stand it. I replaced them with the Porterfield pads mentioned above. I am very happy. No more embarrassing noise. I do not track the car and am not the most aggressive driver.

Can someone post pictures of the Fiorano rotors? I picked up a set of 355 drilled rotors made by Brembo, wondering if they're technically 'Fiorano' or just aftermarket upgrades? Either way they look great :D

Anyone have a source for a quality drilled (not slotted) rotor for the 355?

You do understand that drilling the rotors will allow them to crack (google up stress riser).

A friend of mine actually drilled his own rotors.

Not on a Ferrari, but his road car. He marked them all up, drilled each hole on each rotor one at a time. Took him around 4 hrs to do each one because he had to stop and re-adjusted the rotor under the drill press. :D

He did a fantastic job and we all thought he was mad. You couldn't buy drilled rotors for his model of car back then.

He has had them on his car now for around 9-10 yrs without any issues. His car is a turbo 6 cylinder Ford with around 400HP. It's no slouch, but he doesn't race around the streets either which is probably why his rotors haven't crumbled to pieces.

Good to hear. I bought some of these (I'm assuming you mean EBC) for my Boxster and haven't put them in yet. They're supposed to be much lower dust too.

The oem rotors, plain and drilled, are manufactured by Brembo. Someone has posted in the past that you can source the rotors from some Brembo wholesalers, but I have not seen any online retailers offering them.
