I am looking at a 550,1999 and it has stock calipers; I would like another color, do you buy them in other colors or do they just powder coat the old ones, and what about cost?thnx, dog

People don't really go and buy new ones in the color they want. Well...technically, I suppose you could, but it's pretty cost prohibitive.

The simplest solution is to just paint the ones you have. All you need to do is to clean and de-grease the surface and apply primer and/or a metal paint.

Cost if you DIY: About $8
Cost if you hire someone: Probably a few hundred dollars

Powder-coating is an option, but it's overkill.

I wasn't planning on reposting that stuff. I was simply reminding them about the Ferrari logo.

Re-color job is very simple and best done as part of a caliper rebuild which is basically putting new seals on the caliper pistons. You either powder coat to the base coat you want or just paint. Then you get some ebay Ferrari stickers of the proper size and decal them on then spray clearcoat. Many have done that here.

Leave them black with the original white Ferrari silkscreen.

Here is one of my calipers with its paint damaged by an off-track excursion at Watkins Glen. I never bothered refinishing it. The silkscreened Ferrari logo fared well.

Just go ahead and remove the calipers all together, and leave them off. They just busy up the wheel and obstruct the view of the cross drilled discs. Then you do not have to worry about painting them.

    Greetings ,
I am sitting on the patio of the lakehouse smoking a cigar and drinking some bourbon ( my wife made me be truthful...) ok, Scotch. Anyways, I am glad you are getting your priorities straight. Forget the timing belts, clutch, records...
Choose the car you like with the right color and options you like.

BTW, for dinner in Atlanta... with cigars and bourbon,... I think I might have an alternative for you instead of the traditional shipping charges from Dallas.
