God I am so sick of this BS, I can't believe this is coming up again...

Just separate them already, then I can dump my membership and finally separate myself from this site and all these head-up-thier-ass-newbies forever! This forum has been slipping for a long time now, thanks to all these newbie idiots who only have a Ferrari now because the BS economy has taken a once prestigious marque and made it attainable to every clueless poser dipchit with a decent job....

Let me guess, the putz who contacted Rob about this... joined within the last year??? Unsubscribed???

And for the benefit of the dumbass newbies... YOUR 355 IS A 348 WITH 8 EXTRA VALVES, 1 EXTRA GEAR AND POWER STEERING... DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work on 737's (airplanes). They all look very similar. They all fly about the same speed. But....when it comes to maintenance they all have separate manuals. Each type ( -400, -500, -700, -900 etc)
Has it's own unique maintenance characteristics. All these planes are on an equal plane when it comes to liking them. I would not want to read about a -400 when I'm working on a -900. And visa versa.
Two different animals. I feel the same when it comes to the 348/355 issue. It just makes sense. Get over the emotions and think logic. My 2 cents.

:D MY 7 year old daughter had the same sort of strop today.
Can new guys not have an opinion on here, or is it againt the rules.
Do you acualy know for a fact that it was a new member who asked the forum owner for a change? If it was not, your going to look a little foolish;)
For years i have read about the 348 brotherhood. So maybe its time for a change. Unless new members cant have a say.

This should be the quote of the year! I couldn't have said it better. My thoughts and feelings exactly. This site is full of wankers and most of them are the bottom feeders in this section. I mean really, just look at the I bought a 348 for 22k or some of the other cheapo B.S. threads. Seriously WTF????
There was a time when this was a cool place but now its full of troll wannabes that have not a clue.
Since I typed this while taking a dump I think it's appropriate to wipe myself with a "brotherhood" shirt.

    Cheers!

I love how twisted people get on forums. There is probably more concern by some about separate forums than what their stock portfolio has done in the last 2 months.

If you have posted some kind of crazy tirade rant, consider calling your broker/advisor instead; it would be time wasted on something more important.

I would think that the only reasons to separate would be to make things easier for the end user as these are two different cars and if for some reason the two being one bogs down the site.

But seriously folks, it is only a forum, if your electricity goes out and your smartphone dies you wouldn't care either way.

The real question is why on earth would you want to separate the 348 and 355?

The 355 is essentially a modified and some would say improved 348. It was Ferrari's answer to the NSX, and designed and modified to provide what the market demanded of a super car at the time...... more user friendliness. It is essentially a car that Montezemola commissioned as a 'Stop Gap' car, until they engineered something for the next century...... the 360.

Unless there are server issues, the two belong together and is essential, as owners can easily trade information if they are together. If the reason is some sort of feud or snob appeal one way or the other, remember...... that FChat is only a diversion from real life, or a place to exchange information and stories for owners and enthusiasts. FChat is not a life style! Unless you are Rob! :D

This is the second time this topic has come up in six months.

The majority voted to keep it the way it is....I agree, they are very similar and the tech advice is universal in a lot of cases.

I just don't understand this mental superiority that some people display over someone new that has a common interest. So what if someone asks a dumb question... either ignore it or share some of your knowledge!

Agreed there are many similarities between the two cars but after reading the DIY posts here in the 348/355 section, there are many things I have repaired on my 355 that are different to the 348.

I vote not to separate due to the similarities and the valued knowledge I pick up from the 348 brotherhood. If separated I would still visit the 348 section.

THe sections are fine the way they are, otherwise we should although separate 360/430
    550/599 etc...

However, like i've seen on other forums, someone starting a new thread should describe what model it refers to.

    exemple:

    [348] Restoration project -
    [355] F1 gearbox problem -

Same thing for the other sections.

as the old saying goes; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." The 348 boys have been good to us and I enjoy the spirited rivalry ;)

Besides, if it weren't for us flappy paddle 355 boys, who would they turn to for hair product guidance?

I say keep them together as they are close in heritage. Plus I like reading all the stuff when people compare the cars. Apples to oranges but I enjoy reading both.

    I voted no.

+355. I was thinking this as well and I am glad to see someone else beat me to it. Why not do it this way and allow a way to filter between the two?

No. Both you need to be a mechanic to own without spending more in service than the car is worth.

When I first joined I believed in separation. I even started a thread with the same question. I have become older and wiser and no longer believe in the separation. Reading about the 348s makes me feel better about the 355s. Besides that 90% of the posts here just bash the cars anyway so 1/2 of 90% means only half of the posts are 355 bashers. Life is good
