    Hi
I have a 308, but will be venturing into the 355 world very shortly with a 95 spyder.
I've been going through the archives doing my homework.

I read that the 95 is OBD-1 and you can read the codes off the dash.
I went through the on-line owners manual & didn't see mention of this.
Has anyone used an OBD Meter on it (besides the dealer's)?

ALso, is there an on-line source for a 95 parts manual?
    at http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/Downloads.htm
    I didn't see it there.

    Thanks

get the workshop manual and it will tell you both the instructions and the codes. Once you get the hang of it it is pretty easy to understand.

Basically there is a button for each DME that you push to generate codes. These will flash via the check engine light for each bank.

Your best bet though is to get the manual and it'll walk you through it.

    Good Luck with the car.

The procedure is definitely in the manuals - download the Workshop Manuals (not just the Owner's manual). Like Chris says, you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. Good luck.

The procedure is in the owners manual to check the codes. I believe it is done by counting the number of times the lights flash on the ECU that is located in the engine bay to get the code , not the dash.

You don't need to plug anything in to read the codes. The next time I see you at a DFC Event I will show you how to do it on my 95. It literally takes about 20 seconds and no OBD computer is needed. All you need is a print out of what codes are what so you can interpret them.

As a 1995 and a Motronic 2.7 car, would it be the exact same process as the 348?

There is a great "how to" at:
    http://www.my348.com/

Just scroll to the contents and click on the "ECU codes and Check Engine Lights" link under the ECU section.

Could someone that is clued-in comment if this applies here? I'm 355 clueless as all my tinkering has been on a 348.

Can I follow that link with all the brew-ha-ha about splitting the 348/355 section?
    I mean...it is a 348 link...this is for a 355.......I wouldn't want to commit a significant faux pas so early in ownership.

Haha! I hear ya there! But since this revolves specifically around the 2.7 Motronic system, I think it'll be ok. Lol. Especially if you are wearing the proper hair gel of the 355 crowd.

Ok, thought I'd share this find. I hope it's not a repost.

So it seems Purflux is the only manuf. of oil filters for the 355.
I've seen an endcap wrench that fits that model of filter. But it's upwards of $80.

    Not anymore.
Ultimate Garage $15 for the part, $10(ish) for shipping Plus poke around. they have the std hose clamps too. I have no affiliation, yada yada.
    desc:
Facom Oil Filter Cap Wrench - Ferrari 348/355/360/430...... 86mm diameter with 9 notches. For oil and diesel Purflux filters. 3/8" square drive. This is the size used on the 348/355/360 oil filter (197654), the F430 oil filter (200595), Maserati oil filter (188814) and the Enzo filter (195363). Mfg = Facom/USAG.

Ok, this arrived today. $26.05 with shipping & NJ Tax.
It's a perfect fit & seems to be of nice quality.

I'll be using it as soon as the Ricambi filter arrives :)
