    Some GT4s were originally made with the Boxer style black lower.

    What sort of $ will the paint be? Will you be block sanding to true the surfaces?

    The paint looks thin to me, judging from the places were it is damaged, not the usual high build yellow filler found on 308's. Just an observation.

    hey guys- A dual thread here- also going on in the Bradan section in the New York regional sectoin.

    The car is dead stock, all original 13,000 mile. Interior is perfect- everything works even the A/C. I have already completed the belts, tensioners, fueld and coolant hoses, points, (Going back to single set of points) plugs, wires, carb rebuild and sync and new fuel pump. The car starts instantly and settles into a silky idle- and even with the OEM exhaust it sounds wonderful- pulls very strong. Redline in the gearbox and it shifts like Buttah...

    I'll tell you- a really crisp and fresh 308GT4 is a hell of a car- sounds and feels remarkably different from the injected cars.


    Original paint is in OK shape- lots of spider webbing but it's glossy and looks great from 10 ft, but the slight impact damage on the rear and the boxer paint scheme (Dealer applied and I HATE the Boxer look) means a respray. Going OEM with Giallo modena.

    Bradan is a wonderful resource for us East Coasters- Dan came up to me to pick the car up- and bundled the paint and body work in with suspension rebuild and shock rebuild to create a very fairly priced package.

    With four Ferraris I think I'm going to keep him busy for some time...

    been there, done that on a GT4...be prepared to find Factory bondo 5/16's of inch or more in places over the sheet metal...
    good luck to both Jay and Dan with the project, you'll need a bit along the way...it's a big, big job...every one of those lines will have to be painstakingly recreated.
    those suttle disappearing lines and gentling rolling shoulders are especially tricky...best to have another one close by for comparison.

    Yeah I'm very curious to see what's under that paint-

    As you and I discussed earlier in the year a good GT4 is a pretty special thing- even if the marketplace does not reflect it at this point.

    I'll be sure to post some good photos and videos when she's all finished!
