The Tony Oxley PF Coupe remains a 1 family owned car to this day in its original White colour although it was retrimmed in early 1960's as the original interior trim was white & the owner preferred otherwise. Car has not ran for many years and the engine is currently apart. Chassis number #1973. When raced by MacKay Oxley was the owner. The Campbell car is #1417 a former LHD car now RHD & in need of restoration.
Darren, here's one for the registry. http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/138788/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 john
John Registry Updated. car details here : http://web.me.com/djaffrey/Registry/Series_1_Cars/Pages/1025_GT.html I also realised when updating the site we are getting close to a milestone....when 7 more cars are located we will have finally found more cars than are missing. To date 170 cars have now been found of the 353 manufactured. 177 being the tipping point. To think this all started as a late night muse between John and myself when we had details on about only 40 cars at the time the site was first published ! Cheers Darren.
Hi Darren, I have come accross another non-running, but complete (S1) car. Will send you photos. john
I have noticed 1331GT is missing in the registry. There were these pictures on ebay.it recently, for those who missed its... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
King Tom, Anything to share on your latest (225S went to make room for Tdf, right)? Pics please Sharing is caring Inquiring minds LOL! Best, Dave
I honestly forgot 11-o-something. You might know about it already, it's in Bruce's back yard. I saw it last Monday. Next time I'm there I'll take pictures for Darren's site. john
Does anyone know the serial number of this car? A recent barn find. I've been told it was 1077, which is wrong since 1077 is a LWB Spyder California; or numero interno 232 C, which is 0751. But 0751 won platinum at Cavallino in '98, so I find it hard to believe that it rotted away from platinum status in just 13 years. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I happened on this photo, but don't know which car it is-- it's a nice unmolested S1 car. This must be the perfect color for the PF coupe. john http://www.carsbase.com/photo/Ferrari-250_GT_Coupe_mp20_pic_49702.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
This was perhaps more accurately termed a "barn find" (?) in 2007 when it passed through Fantasy Junction at that time. It was also there last week and the week before. The Pinin Farina body number is 085. The engine "interno" number is 0232D. The gauges are in Italian and there were 81009km showing as of 10//2007. The Washington plate was last tagged January 1978. I suffered through five years with an expensive Nikon "point-and-shoot" digital that was small and pretended to emulated SLR function in many ways. It was disappointing from the start. Never again a small Nikon! Still, a few photos are passable. John Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Indeed, John, the perfect color for that model. Series 2 1747 here, now with Dr. David Eichenbaum. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Darren, here is the PF coupe I mentioned in an earlier post: http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/1127-Ferrari-250%20PF%20Coupe%20Series%20I-3.0%20Lite%2012-Cylinder john
So any estimates as to what it would cost to mechanically resurrect* (not restore) this car?: http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/...%2012-Cylinder *Resurrect = properly running engine and functional drivetrain (brakes, gearbox, diff & axles)
This car is not the right candidate for a "sympathetic restoration", but it is a great candidate for a prize winning restoration. john
What determined which steering wheel was used? I see some with a long tear drop cut out on the spokes and some with embossed spokes. What is this? The two extra high tension leads between the coils and the distributor. I am guessing it is a limp home mode that allows you to use one coil for both distributors. There was a 250 PF Coupe parked on the camp site for the participants of the recent Goodwood Revival. I noticed it had two back seats! Complete with seat belts... Anyone know if this is original? By the way I didn't manage to get the chassis number. It was registered 6FER (UK). Best, Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think Pininfarina made a mistake by not putting that side bezel on all the coupes. The 1007GT is so much prettier than ordinary coupes just by the virtue of that thin horizontal accent. john
Have you seen the interior of 1007? There is a James Bondian assortment of lights and switches. Even a small light in the lower dash to be used to re-illuminate your glow in the dark watch!
