In World in red #11 there is an advertisement for the following book, does anyone know if it ever has been published? 550 Maranello da competizione - the story behind the 2003 GT Champions Keith Bluemel / Michael Cotton 216 pages, 26x26 cm, hardcover. Hugo
Hugo, I've never come across it so I would guess not but I've e-mailed Keith to ask him and I'll let you know what he says (might be some time for a reply as he's probably in Monterey). Jonathan
This is a must have for anyone on this list http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250877395399&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
I think I paid $100 for a new book so this is a steal and a very good book if you like Ferrari........!!!!
You can buy it on ebay for 150 from a seller in Belgium, mine arrived today. I don't understand a word of what's written, but many photo's of I think all Ferrari's produced. Hugo
Hugo, Sorry for the delay on this. Keith tells me he wrote the text and was paid for it but isn't sure what happened afterwards. He has contacted the publisher to find out and will let me know. Regards Jonathan
Hugo, Belated thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately, by the time the seller responded with the estimated shipping costs someone else had already snagged it. Hope you enjoy your copy. Jack.
Is the pricing of this item a little on the optimistic side? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-Sports-Gran-Turismo-Cars-Merritt-RARE-68-/370405172656?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item563dde65b0#ht_500wt_956 Paul
Yes but only a little bit for a copy without the dust jacket ) On amazon Germany there are currently five copies from EUR 25,-- ( acceptable condition ) or from EUR 50,-- for very good condition. Listed on amazon.de they are located in the UK and US. Best Regards from Germany Martin
Sorry; I just don't know, but cannot imagine, that any book from 1968 came without a dust jacket. I know these three copies, but don't know about the edition number for the right and left book. I have the one in the middle, which is edition 3 from 1976. Of course I have this, because it shows my car Best Regards from Germany Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm pretty sure the first edition came only with a clear plastic cover, not a colored paper dust jacket.
who can tell me, why there is one single thread for all the great books, while every model car, sometimes cheapest stuff, has its own thread ? Best Regards from Germany Martin
After doing some book browsing last weekend I realize that some of my haphazardly collected library of motor books have appreciated greatly in value. Does anyone here insure their books? Thanks, David
Covered under homeowners policy. Make sure you have enough for valuables, and put together a solid collection inventory. I keep mine on GoogleDocs for easy access and updates. I include information on where I acquired the book and purchase price as well, to track values and get some ideas on the market.
I've got mine on a spreadsheet, but I've also added replacement value as some are now costing more than I paid - but some are less Nathan
The seller posted another copy yesterday so I grabbed it. I have no earthly reason why, just my compulsive buying of Ferrari titles, I suppose! Jack
I have a pretty high value on contents, but I hope there's enough remnants after the loss event as my inventory is not good!
