Wow!! Thats the video of the decade right there...

I think that would put it at #1 on the Ferrari Video crash list.

    1. ZR spinning an Enzo over a dock into the bay
    2. Eddie Griffin drifting and Enzo into a concrete divider
    3. Some guy driving his F50 down a cafe stairwell in Monaco

IIRC the EDO is 100KG lighter.

I didn't like the looks and wheels. Besides that I think it's awesome!

    That was Joel Goodson driving.

The guy who retrieved the car asked, "Who's the U-boat commander?"

Fantastic video btw. Zahir seems very open about the whole deal, you can tell he's upset by it. Most times when a Ferrari (any of them) crashes the owner goes into mental 'protect all' mode.

    Absolutely...

Guy buys car, guy modifies car to make it his, guy enjoys car...

Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that they're there to be enjoyed I think. Not that I'm a fan of what EDO does to the Enzo...

On a similar but different note, I just watched the video about Nick Mason's 250 GTO, and that to me is prettier for being used, rather than being cosseted away somewhere.

Long may people be able to afford them and enjoy them.

    Just my opinion

    Carry on.

Not sure an hour long soak in the salt is the same as what you've described. Certainly the motor would need to be torn apart very swiftly to benefit from any chance washing the parts would have to save it. The entire electical system will be hosed up too.

Just not an ideal situation for Zahir, but good see to from the video he has a positive attidue about it all and seems motivated to fix it.

Absolutely "repairable".IMO..it's salt WATER not hydrochloric acid...

As these drivers state, the damage is minimal, against the value of the car.

Napolis could say more about the electronics of the systems which I am sure would need total replacement.

But everyone involved should remember that due to the door design of this car, a rollover into the water would have had dire and truly life threatening results.

It is good for me to see and hear old friends.

That is a top notch video, but more for what it says, than what it shows......class act.

That's a good point in that hopefully he had presence to switch off, hydrolocking the engine (even on mother's milk) can indeed do real damage.

    Salt is a real *****...

IMO car would have to be taken totally apart and electronics replaced.

He can afford it and **** happens.

    I could not disagree more.

It would have been one of the most exhilarating 60 seconds of most people’s lives! I wish I was in the passenger seat!

Lots of people talk about living on the edge, few truly do. The only way you know your living on the edge is to find it once and a while!

Do you think he cares about the money? He lives for the excitement!

That's certainly an interesting take on things.

I'd only argue that finding the edge and not falling off of it would have been far more preferred.

I just watched that video and I cannot believe they are allowed to race/speed like that passed peoples houses and parked cars, etc. These street events are simply unnecessary endangering uninvolved peoples lives and property. We have race tracks that is where we should race.

Also it appears cars like this Enzo don't take much to cause a complete lack of control. I do not believe the driver was showing off like some have said, he appears to have hit gravel while accelerating and just lost traction.

I'm all for speed and racing but these events were stopped 50 years ago for a very good reason, ie. the Millie Miglia. Time to stop the lunacy before our luck runs out and somebody kid gets killed ... and I believe a spectator was injured this year with this event.

It is silly stuff. No way I would allow and event to race passed my house, no way!

Roads were closed, it's an "event".

If I am looking at the participants entries correctly they were running in the "touring" class, so "not racing" in the literal sense...

Check the event website out for yourself, as I did.

FWIW I agree it was totally the gravel and he was "on it" just a little too soon after making the transition to the lower road, no idea on driver aids after all of this car's modifications.

I recall Schumacher himself in an early track session with the Enzo stating "I would leave them turned "on" "....:D

It doesnt matter how many driver aids you've got. On a loose surface with the driver steering (wait for the future with steer assist...) and the back end free you need to be superman to avoid an incident.

A driver who really knows what he's doing getting away with it at 150mph...

Psk.... I have competed in the Targa Newfoundland race twice. The organizers take safety seriously.

The Enzo owner wasn't even competing....it was just an exhibition event for him. We all know that power can be deceiving and yes he made a mistake. But don't blame Targa. The rally is professioanally run, the organizers are top notch and the driving challenging and spirited. The Enzo, mc 12 430 are NOT rally cars so I expect them to not appreciate the harsh road surfaces. But kudos to the guy for even going ther...trying, and giving the locals a great show.

This is an event that we should all try....just within our driving ability and ego....
