I will be taking delivery of a 2012 Cali in November. Having 2 boys: one 2 and one 3 year old, I will need some car seats, not just booster seats.

The Ferrari seats were expensive, especially due to shipping (>$100 shipping each) The Ferrari store however has free shipping going on, so I would like to get 2 of these seats.

Do you know how well these seats fit in the back? How far do they stick out, in other words, can the kids still bend their legs and have them dangle downwards?
I guess the questions is more: how well do the kids fit in these seats while in the Cali?

I am talking about this seat: Ferrari baby seat I-Max SP
    http://store.ferrari.com/en/accessories/kids/car-seats/ferrari-baby-seat-i-max-sp.html
This is the one with the harness, not the Dream one.

Please share your experience as this has not been resolved on the forums yet.
    Thanks,
    Collin

Do you need to order online?

My local dealer has these seats in stock. If you have not already checked, check if your local dealer has them too - you can try/test and buy direct from the dealer if that is the case.

    These fit pretty well actually.

I don't have my Cali yet. However, my buddy has had his for 1 year and he has had the seats in there many times.

I am getting the iso-fix versions for my Cali when it comes in for my two and four year old.

I thought about the Cali for a minute before buying a Bentley GTC. I'm pretty sure there is not a single child seat (for a 2 year old) that will fit in the back with out moving the seat all the way forward. I wish it would have worked but the space is just too small. Booster seat may work for a kid a little older but the full child seat won't work I'm afraid. The back seat of the bentley GTC is 2x larger and its still tight sometimes.

I have a Ferrari seat for my 2 year old we use that in the S-class where space isn't an issue. We went through 5 to 6 seats for the Bentley. Finally found one that fit like it was made to go there..

For the guys that have put them in a Cali can we see pics ? 2 adults plus 2 child seats I did not think it would work. I'm interested to see it. Thanks.

Interesting, good to hear. Does your buddy has the Ferrari car seats I mentioned or different ones?
What are the iso-fix versions, I mean how are they different?
Did you find a good place/price to get them?

Of course pictures of the car/seats/kids would be appreciated by me and the forum, I cannot find any of kids in these Ferrari seats in a Cali.
    Thanks for your help.

I have tried various car seats in my Cali for my 2 kids (3 and 5)

The best one in terms of fit seems to be the Recaro Monza (either with or without isofix). It is the one for group 2-3 for ages 4 to 12 but I have been using it for my 3 year old as well as he is quite tall.

For my 5 year old who is really tall (4ft2) I have just been using a basic booster you can get anywhere.

In terms of leg room for both of the it is pretty tight but they have never complained as they are so excited to get in the car.

I am sorry though but I don't have any pictures to post.

Dutch, I also use the Cali with my kids, but they are older now and only one requires the basic booster which, as other posters mentioned, fits with ease.

Since you are in Palm Beach County but your dealer does have not have the full child seat to test, might I suggest calling Ferrari-Maserati of Ft. Lauderdale. They are very friendly and accomodating and, if they have the seat in stock, I am sure they would let you come by to see how it fits in the back of the Cali.

Best of luck and enjoy the car when it arrives!

I got a Britax seat that they recommend in the owners manual. That seemed to fit much better. I put my 2 yr old in that seat. You do have to move the seat up but it's not too bad. For my 5 yr old I use a Porsche booster that allows me to drive with her behind me but it's pretty tight. Only good for really short hops. Hope this helps....and CONGRATS. Your kids will love it as much as you do!

OK, so we're getting some responses but no confirmation yet on how well the Ferrari seat mentioned in the original posting fits.
Please, if you have this seat, post your comments.

In response to one response, I did some research and pasted from the manual the info for the recommended car seat. I believe however this is mostly a European model. (I think the mentioned model is Britax Kid Plus High Backed Booster Seat)

Based on comments and my reviews so far, I'd think that the depth of the car seat is the limiting factor: the seats are not deep and anything deep would stick out too much, causing the front seat to move further forward than possible. (I'm 6 foot 4 and could really use a car seat that is no deep, but really like the Ferrari one mentioned above)

    Any US comments are welcome.

Just make sure the seats have been tested by a 3rd party rating agency. I suspect that these are private labelled from some reputable company, but it's worth doing a little background check to be sure.

Ok, while waiting for some wise words from you all, maybe I can contribute some myself.
I spent today researching various forums as the Cali is not the only car with small backseats.

In conclusion: although there are many seats with a 17-18" depth, there are a few with a 16" depth. The one that is mostly advised is this one:
    Sunshine Radian 65SL Carseat

As an extra benefit, it is fold-able (might fit in the the trunk when not in use) and is rated very good (better than most)
    Price is fair, about $180
    It is however not light.

That is the seat I think I have. It was the one from my manual. It works great.

This is the seat that was recommended to me. I could not find one locally, so when I ordered the car, I purchased a different seat with slightly larger demensions as a tester and it was a tight fit. Car will be here next month and I just ordered this seat. I will post pics once I have it in.

It isn't just the small depth of the back seats in the Cali that cause fitment issues. The backs are also quite vertical, so any child seat that has the back leaning too far back won't allow the base to tuck all the way back into the seat. I'm fortunately I now only need a booster seat for my son, and the Combi Dakota fits great (Graco and Evenflo were too wide).

Also - have you seen this thread? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260411. It has a photo of one of the Ferrari child seats in back, and later in the thread I have picts of the Dakota booster fitted.
