I have them on mine but they were on the car when I bought it.. fits fine and the sticker/info panels were transferred over, so it looks stock.

I'm just curious why you would buy those? Aren't they about the same price of ancarbon fibre bumper that will save you a shedload of weight? I lifted a front bumper once and it was ridiculous.

What is the source for the carbon bumper?

I have them as well, installed by the previous owner. Fit and finish is very good. The original black aluminum panels had become a little discolored, so this was a convenient appearance mod.

As to the other poster who asked about CF bumpers, it's not the price of the bumper that will kill you, it's the price of the paint job. Color matching Ferrari Glasurit or PPG is not as easy as other cars built in high volume.

Interesting. Although I would like to see what this looks like in real-life.

Is there a manufacturer making these kits?

Pap, are the necks removable from ESP guitars? If so, you should Hydro-Dip one of the bodies of your guitars. That would probably look very good.

Scott - MACarbon in Belmont, CA, provided mine. I believe they were sourced from Japan and finished/polished at MACarbon's shop (they have an online website you can peruse). The original tags and labels were also meticulously transferred. Although they don't contribute much to saving weight, I do love the appearance, and they're much easier to clean and maintain than the original metal panels.

Looks like these guys make DIY kits, but I don't see any CF patterns there. :)

I have 3 guitars that are bolt necks, the rest are neck-thru.

I was thinking of doing my original (cheap sh*t) guitar, so I don't ruin the finish on one of my big dollar ESP guitars. :D

I just read they don't ship that DIY kit internationally. And I doubt we will see any kits in Australia anytime soon. I will just have to wait for now. :)

This process has been around for years actually, you might check round and see if anyone is doing it over there, or maybe in MY?

    Thanks mate, didn't realise this.

I still haven't found any info of anyone doing it in Australia, but I will keep sniffing around.

The one I have found is called esta international - no idea about quality , but from memory c 2.8k usd
If the bumpers are of decent quality, then this should save a lot of weight ( worth it once money per pound wise once you have replaced seats, battery, exhaust, cats I guess)

Another thing that I thought might be worthwhile is having your whole exhaust system coated - in the uk there is a company that sells a product called performance white, which is basically heat shielding - not sure what it costs. Am sure something similar is also available in the us
I would assume that you'll be able to get rid of the heat shields in the engine bay as a result and it also looks quite good

Fair enough, i did not know this and Have not looked into it, but would not have been too worried about it in any case as I would have been more interested in the weight loss than the perfect colour match.

Previous owner installed them.. otherwise I never would have bought them. The big hunk of carbon fiber between the two panels does add about 14hp though ;)
