I have a 3rd Gen ('93) RX-7 with a highly modified single turbo engine. I am running 20+ lbs of boost on methanol. I am making big HP.

I also have a 2000 Ferrari 360. No performance mods except Tubi exhaust.

I like my Mazda... its scary fast and it's a show car to boot.

I love my Ferrari... its not scary fast, but has good power and performance. Its sounds amazing and well, its a Ferrari. Not much more to say.

I own a 360, 300zx (SMZ edition), 3000gt VR4 Spyder, 09 Jag XKR, and some other cars. i have a passion for a variety of cars but especially think that many 90's jap cars are beautifully designed.

last night I was out with several friends for a drive on a highway. there was an SL63 AMG and an RS6 (modified to 550hp). both cars out ran mine on the highway straightaway (rs6 got up to 330km according to gps) and mine topped out at 295km. we parked at a rest stop and looked out the window at the cars while drinking coffee. they were talking about this and that about how fast their cars went how the suspension was tuned and the cars looked better with new wheels etc... as they talked all sorts of trash, I looked out the window and saw two pieces of crap parked next to a gorgeous work of art.

I have absolutely no regrets buying the 360. it's slower on a straightaway than almost every car i've owned in the past decade except for my rangerover which is no contest. i highly doubt you'll have any regrets either.

Wow sounds fun!! We have "night drive" like that in HK, with a few lambo, porsche and Ferrari... drive, fill up, talk, drive... We have CB radio, detector, jammer... but I am still too nervous to keep up. It is minimum one year suspension of driving if I get caught doing 50kmh exceeding the limit. I will kill myself if I can only stare at my beautiful cars for a year. Driving in mainland China is another story, you can walk away from murder with cash. we organize China gumball drive, 40-50 super cars doing top speed whole day long. I only got up to 270kmh in my 360 and that was scary. felt like it was floating.
I'd really want to join your drive in Korea one day.

...... And your definitive opinion is based on?

    Ownership?

    Personal experience?

    or Magazine articles?

As much as I have respects for JDMs, FDs and 360s are just not in the same league. A buddy had one and these cars and it was so poorly engineered. The motor was weak and it blew up.

If you've owned Japanese cars and think they are beautifully designed or even if you didn't I think most or some would appreciate it that you wouldn't abbreviate Japanese into a 3 letter word. It's considered offensive to many.

Both ownership and personal experience. After a gumball like event in a F360, I got a Gallardo instead. More power and reliability. I often read magazine reviews of the cars I own, rarely before.

I always abbreviate Japan in a 3 letter word NRT (airport code for Narita). Yes I know Japan has >1 airport, but when I am writing business emails we tend to abbreviate every locale by the airport code due to co-travelers ending up in the right city/country, but wrong airport. So we fly from SFO to NRT on Date X. No offense intended F430Rod-san or is it F430Rod3?

one of the first message boards i ever joined as rx7club. I love the fd rx7, supra, 300zx, and 3000gt vr4. Those were the cars I dreamed of owning when I was in high school. Of course I ultimately dreamed of Ferraris and Lamborghinis but it never seemed realistic.

All of those japanese performance cars are awesome.

Have you or others considered using "JPN" vs the other? Isn't this what you see like in the Olympics when they show how Japan is abbreviated? If I'm counting right...both are 3 letters. :D

Oh and you might want to think twice about how you are writing those business emails because while the person you are directing the email to may not be Japanese they certainly may have a sister in law or brother in law or cousin law or adopted kid or neighbor or good friend or whomever who is Japanese. Will they say anything? Most likely not because most don't. But remember they probably won't think too highly of you from this aspect.

And it's not about the "offense intended"...it's about how "ignorant" one comes across but hey whatever. I don't want to hijack this thread.

As far as RX-7 and 360...I can't believe this comparison is even being made. :D
