I think even mentioning the word "Lawyer" or bringing a document to the table on "expectations of the PPI" will get you a simple "NO". I know I wouldn't put my name on a piece of paper so some pain in the a-- could then drag me into court because I narrowly missed their expectation. People buy these cars not knowing what they're getting into and complain when it's not a new car equivalent.

It's like Billy Bob says, you have to know the car that you're buying. I've been on FChat for a while, and I can't count how many owners ask about things that are on page 5 of the manual.

Example: When I bought my 360, I STUDIED the car for a year. I read the manual (gasp) and as many buyer guides that I could. The first time I saw my car was when it arrived for delivery. I found a reputable mechanic in the area and verbally told him on the phone my expectations "if you were me and I was there in person doing a walk around the car.. if you can do a compression check great". I had the car delivered for the PPI and that told him I was serious. He called me and told me over the phone what he saw and he gave me his address for payment. I mailed him CASH and a little extra (for a beer) and that was it. When it arrived there were things that weren't seen given the scope of what I paid for. No biggie, I know enough about the car that it's not a big issue. Did I complain on FChat? No. because I'm not a pain in the A-- customer and I did my homework. I would rather see a thousand "What to expect when you're expecting?" type threads asking a ton of newbie questions than one like this one. I'm not an owner but I tend to be a gatherer of information. I study the things I'm interested in to a point of being ridiculous. I read threads about cars I will likely never own just to find out the individual quirks of each model. If I am ever in a position to buy a 308 I will try to be a knowledgeable buyer and ask the right questions. If the car I get has unexpected issues hopefully they are minor.

You don't buy a Ferrari (or any car) beyond it's warranty if you expect a trouble free motoring experience
