Yes, this is my car. 1479GT. I had the belts put in when I restored it so my kids can ride in the back although there is very little room back there.

Certainly different John...and I for one like it.

It's got that correct 60's vibe going on.

Steve Markowski gave me a ride in this beauty at the 2010 FCA National in NJ; a delight.

I found this feature on 1131 and 1159, anyone familar with what it does. The first photo is from 1135 the second is a detail shot of 1159. The photo in my last post was also from 1159.

    Cheers Jim

Jim, I asked this same question a few years ago on this site. Shaughnessy informed us that they were high voltage resistors, meant to suppress radio interference.

They can't help the performance of the engine, but they are cute and rare.

Interesting. Usually the high tension resistors are at the spark plug (which this car also has), I have never seen any on the coil before. If that is the case, then mine are currently bypassed. The car does have capacitors on the generator as well as both coils to suppress radio interference, so that does apprear to have been a priority.

Should 1025 be moved to the deceased list? Last I saw it was on ebay for sale, body and chassis only. The rest of the parts were stripped off of it.

I have a question regarding the original wheel spec and finish on the 250pf. I own a series-1 car, which presently has 16" diameter wheels, painted grey excepting the knock-off. I also have seen some circa 1961 vintage pictures of this car (1493) where the wheels appear to be polished. Wonder if anyone can clarify what these cars typically rolled out on when new. Thanks.

Road cars of the era generally came with polished rims. If you look up period photos of the PF coupe you'll see them with polished wheels.

For fun I took 1159 out to cars and coffee. Probably the first time it has been out in the public since 1978. The car attracted a lot of attention, more than I thought it would. It also surprised me the number of people that encouraged me to leave it like it is.

    Cheers Jim

    Very kool.
One of the few that hasn't become a "period correct GTO Replica" (yet). Let's see if one day it turns up in the replica thread of the vintage section on fchat......

1159 GT: Destination Invernizzi, Italy. But actually sold new to Egidio Galbani, Milan, Italy.
Original exterior color: Grigio Fumo 16672 MM with Vinyl and Leather Turchese VM 3478.

Jim: I assume you bought it from Fantasy Jct in September 2011, right?

The car is safe while I own it. While it is understated next to its contemporaries, it is still a very attractive design.

Thank you for the information on the original owner on the car. I did not have any information prior to 1968. I suspected the original owner was in Europe, mostly because I also suspect the original owner had the car converted to disc brakes. The quality of the conversion is too comprehensive to be anything other than a factory job.

Yes I purchased the car from Fantasy Jct in Sept.

    Cheers Jim
