It's for sure a long term project.. the engine is currently out and we're doing a complete overhaul. Will try to get the engine bay look decent again as well. The previous owner already started on the restauration and put in a new interior which is not 100% original but really suits the car. (black car / red interior)
So all in all it won't be a "completely factory correct" restoration like yours but at least it will be a very driveable and at the same time beautiful car.
Can't wait to get her into driving condition..... an Espada event sounds good to me !!!

BTW recently I bought an unrestored/untouched Espada S3 that will be very useful to determine the original position of some parts and the materials used by the factory.

Two Espadas? One very original and nice(?) that runs and one under restoration?

    Quick, seek counseling ... :)

To be precise: one original / unrestored / currently not running(needs a carb adjustment). the other non-original leather / soon to be running .. under restoration...

7 Lambo's now so yeah.. I suppose you could call that an addiction of some sort...
Counseling.... ah well... I guess that's why I'm lurking around here ... :D
With all those car expenses there's no budget for counseling anyway ;)

The silver one is #9842 , was for sale as a restoration project in Belgium beginning of this year.

The black one with red interior is #9056 now residing in the Netherlands.

That's right.. it's NOT done to the original standards by the previous owner, as I already mentioned. Nevertheless it looks great on the car.

Thanks for answering this question for me... I think it's fair to say that any Espada is a restoration project or at least a restoration in progress. There will always be that small little something that needs to be fixed / tweaked / adjusted.... ;)

The dash facia is also in leather which I think looks a lot better than the original cheap looking aluminum.

I ran across this auction sale from February

    http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-auction-car.php/carno/2011-02-04-ARTCURIAL-220

    It's an impressive amount.

This one goes today and looks to be the identical color to my car.

    http://www.interencheres.com/ventes_aux_encheres/enchere_illustree_1clic.php?clef_vente=201109250007&clef_etude=78007&clef_article=12

There's not much info on this one.

    Another listing

Looks like a repaint to me. Not a big fan of what they did with the wheels.

The year is wrong on the third one. It's a late S2, probably late '72 or early '73. Smog equipment is S3 stuff so this must be a transition car, or it has a later car's engine. And unless my eyes are mistaken, it has power steering. Perhaps it was converted to the knockoffs after the fact.

    I have 7996 and it's a 71. Produced on 9//1/1970. It might be late 71 or a 72?

I don't see any power steering clues. Where are you picking that up?

Yes it's scavenging crankcase fumes instead of dumping everything all over the front right suspension ...

It has the European front side marker lights and none in the rear.

Having gotten a better look on some other pictures It looks like a re-spray and not really pristine to me. But it's hard to know unless you're there.

I'm not sure about the interior. It may have been redone as well at some point.

Not seeing the " original brown metallic paint"
It would be good for all espada owners if this sold for 30 k!

Except for the dash and non-eared knockoffs it looks identical my own Espada!

How different the 330GT and Espada look from each other.

That’s #8508 , today in the “musée de l'automobile Geneva”.

The car was auctioned by Brooks Geneva in March 2001. According to the auction description it’s an original S2 and the conversions (S3 dash, power steering, modified crankshaft, …) were done by the factory in 1976 on request of the second owner.

Correct, it even has still the same radio with the ugly wood cover, the only thing which was removed were the knock off wheel nuts.
I saw the car 9 years ago in Aigle.
