Can someone solve a puzzle for me? I am sure there was a thread about 348/355 central locking popping up and down constantly, but I cannot find it anywhere on Ferrarichat. Am I going crazy or am I rubbish at using the search engine?
I have this locking problem now, along with my friend's 355 down the road. It's driving us nuts!

If you mean the door locks popping up & down, I haven't seen the thread in the 355 section, but on my 308, it was due to the tapered lock knob being too tight on the threaded steel rod and rubbing against the door skin and binding in the door before it could "lock" properly thus triggering an unlock.
But on the 355, there's a few places where you can adjust the tension of the door lock cable and I'd suspect it's time to remove the door skin & make an adjustment.

I had this problem on my 96 355 Spider a while ago. The reason for the malfunction was a burnt down circuit on the fuse box, probably caused by the alarm (a non OEM one). My mechanic repaired the fuse box and the central locking works normal now. Hope this helps,

Dancing door locks. Had the problem on my 348 and found it was caused by interference inside the door. I assume that because the lock could not be disengaged, the system "tried again". In my frustration, I grabbed the passenger side lock, pulled it up with a fair amount of force, and the issue stopped.

This was "in my case" and I'm still not positive its the appropriate fix or correct cause. Please use your own judgement or wait for additional posts from the pro's.

My turn for the dancing door locks.
    Driver's side works great.
Passenger side can be locked with the key only. And then only unlocked with the outside key.

The actuator does move up & down when engaged from the driver's door, center console, or the lock knob on the passenger's door. It just wont lock via them.

I've got the skin off and can't see the malfunction.
Anybody have some ideas or pics?
