I see we have two candidates for National Treasurer. Anyone got any insight into the merits of Ray S and Ken B? Also, the final agenda item 7b "Discussion is held in relation to the store that the members put on Horsepower, its format, quality and frequency and what might be done to improve it" WTF does that mean? I noticed that the current Treasurer at least implies (or should that be infers) that he was instrumental in the savings in the cost of the Magazine. I had a little laugh at that. He certainly paints a very poor picture of the state of financial affairs at the time he took over! Who was the Treasurer then, and should he be shot? (that's a joke)
Oh, yes. The whole implies/infers confusion. My understanding is that you make the implication when you say or write something, and i infer meaning from your implication. But I wouldn't put much store in all that.
hehehe in·fer    [in-fur] Show IPA verb, -ferred, -fer·ring. verb (used with object) 1. to derive by reasoning; conclude or judge from premises or evidence: They inferred his displeasure from his cool tone of voice. im·ply    [im-plahy] Show IPA verb (used with object), -plied, -ply·ing. 1. to indicate or suggest without being explicitly stated: His words implied a lack of faith.
You should have been a politician. You obviously enjoy all the behind the scenes nonsense that goes on.
did the springs on the rear of my QV, the car now sits at 370mm from the top of the ferrari hubcap to the wheelarch, anyone got some other measurements ? PP says his were 375mm but are now 350mm 350 would look right I think Image Unavailable, Please Login
looks better. re jag, cams has been run in power run today the curve is nice and progessive from 3,000 to about 4,500 rpm. BHP just over 330.
Anyway, in the blurb Ray S sent out, he says that reserves were low, all records were out of date (as in ASIC returns) not done for years and club was running completely uninsured....all this at the time Ray S took over as Treasurer 6 years ago, which he's now fixed up. Now that's all very lovely and all, but I've been reminded that the previous Treasurer was AHG....so that leaves me all feeling a bit perplexed. Does anyone have any insight or input?
I know, all that work I did on the car and then I put the guards back in looking like that You should see the inner guards at the front, they look ok
can you measure Horse for me please ? From the top of the Ferrari hubcap to the wheelarch , I think the springs on mine are too stiff and are holding the car up too high at the rear
He would never win a Concour event with underguards that filthy. Makes you wonder what the rest of the car is like.
concour events give me the *****s, judges have no idea, owners have less an idea and the rules can be bent to suit whatever case in point, take the last concours in adel in June this year took the 246, had it detailed, remember this car was bought sight unseen at Shannons last year, added some minor trim bits and is very original but all over a a good car. Turn up with books, warranty cards etc from english dino website, had them filled in with someone who could use a liquid ink pen, wrote in them my father's details of how the car was bought new by him in the UK when he went over for a general motors dealers function. Brought car to aust and then sold it. I bought car back some 38 years later. These idiots bought the story and loved the condition of the books (swept the workshop floor with them to make look old) did they grade it well............yup, it didnt win cos some other idiot had his car so clean its never driven on the road. This just makes a complete mockery of the system, false documents and no one checks anything. No wonder I wont do concour crap again
The above claims surprise me - direction/s to do the above were certainly given but I cannot recall the exact state of affairs as of around 2005. If my memory is correct it would have been Barry who should have done the Asic and Vic gov returns. Walter was in communication with AISIC re the need to correctly align asic names and org numbers and I think this was complete by around 2004. The matter of an appropriate level of financial reserve was raised around 2003/4 and ultimately answered by Ray, but to my knowledge were never low after recovering from the huge loss arising out of the first WA Rally (years earlier) Claims that we were short on insurance also surprise me with both CAMS, AASA and direrctors insurance (thourgh OAMPS) policies in place. I guess my main concern about the claim/s is that for the most part they are not primarily just the role of the treasurer regardless if they are true or not - the treasurers job is mainly to act as one of the executive, to process bills as required, to prepare financials for the AGM, and to clearly understand basics like the difference between cash and accrual accounting.
