Nothing can replace a Series 70 Colt. But this Nighthawk GRP I have is so accurate, its like a lazer.

anybody want my SERIES 70 9mm Combat Commander? pm me. i have a dealer buddy with a regular FFL, my FFL is C&R.

i have been thinking about this thread, and i really dont shoot 9mm that much, unless its out of my suppressed Glock or Taurus. ill look on Gunbroker and see what they are going for with original box and 3 factory mags. i also have a receipt ( and handwritten notes) that Mr Jarvis (of Jarvis in California, the custom gunsmith guy) did $800.00 worth of work on the gun in the 1980's. its set up for fast match shooting of some type.

sorry for the spam, but captive audience and all that!

    :)

Colt Gold Cup satin SS with a Colt custom shop beavertail grip safety installed for me.

I also am partial to the H-K MK23SOCOM but that's a different thread.

I wanted to bump again, I am looking at 1911's and I keep going to Kimber, my only problem is they have about 50 models to choose from and not much to really seperate them aside from shorty, full, or long frame, and with out without a rail. Then the various color options. I don't want to get something that is from a company that just jumped on the 1911 bandwagon like Para, or Sig, I want something respectable to go alongside the workhorse M&P that I let everyone shoot.

Then out of the blue, I thought about locating an original 1911, the rattling, loose, constantly fouling, recoilspring snapping beauty that it is.

I'm cheap (poor) so when I get one it will most likely be an RIA 1911.

I bought this a month or so ago and couldn't be happier with it. It's a Smith & Wesson 1911sc E series. Build quality is excellent, it's very comfortable and very accurate. I would highly recommend this pistol to anybody.

    Colt Gold Cup.

My Colt Government and XSE collection are a close second. It's hard to own just one 1911.

I love the 1911 and have read many articles on the Remington/Colt and Kimbers so I doubt one can go wrong with either make. I will take two of each please!!!

I've always felt that the single stack 1911 was too slender in my hand, I much perfer how my Para-Ord P14-45 fits, it just feels better to me. Great quality too, even though it appears to have just jumped on the bandwagon.

I can pickup one of these new for around $720 w/LEO discount:
    http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/custom-ii/custom-ii

Yet I will always have a hole in my heart mourning the Kimber 'Pro Series 1' I used in the academy, I'll never forgiven my dad for trading that pistol!!!!!

Kimber has too many variants. Lost interest when I stopped being able to tell them apart. The Porsche Plague

Yes I can see that but that is the style/model they prefer and they have perfected it. I am by no means a knowledgeable advocate of any make or model but damn I love me some 1911 haha, I would really prefer a Colt or Remington.

The Porsche plague was classic, lmao!!!

I am not familiar with a Kimber.

Nonetheless, Colt has 27 current models (including three from the Custom Shop) in .45 ACP that are currently available.

It is a corporate conspiracy that requires a guy to buy a dozen more 1911's than he needs. ;)

Same here... the Beretta Cougar 8045, however, fits perfect.

I've always wanted a 1911, just haven't found the right one yet.

If anyone made a 1911 with a grip like the one on my Taurus 24/7 Pro .40 I would be all over that pistol.

I vote Colt Lightwieght Commander in .45 Fit's all my carry, power & familiarity requirements. I am talking about the original not the current SS. The only change I made on mine was to swap out the arched mainspring housing for the flat to fit my shooting style/grip better.
