    Guys,

I've just finished a couple of animated films I thought might amuse the forum (stills from which are below).

They feature a 1962 250 GTO, which I've modelled (as closely as I can) on Nick Mason's car (with apologies!). For the interested 3D techies, it was created it in Autodesk 3ds Max with AfterEffects for post.

Very cool! Just to give us an idea, how much time did it take? And roughly how did you make these renderings?

Took about nine weeks to create the first one, a good percentage of that was spent modelling and texturing the cars, rooftop carpark and robot bits. All done in 3ds Max, which is a professional 3D animation tool. Second film was much quicker as all the modelling was done, I just needed to rig the car so it drove realistically and set up my virtual cameras to get the extra shots I wanted.

Rendering shots took an age, the close-up pan of the front took about 3 days to render alone, and that's using two high-end workstations.

The model looks very good, can you post some wireframes of the model. I do CG and I always like to see how the model are constructed.

Thanks, the last time I used MAX, it was all triangles. I guess MAX now has some flavor of Subdivision surfaces since it looks like the mesh is all quads.
