Last week I drove the Peak to Peak Highway in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. It was a perfect fall day and I took some pictures along the way. The aspen were in yellow and gold, the road was deserted, and the temperature was a crisp 65 degrees. I tried to attach seven photos but it seems I only sent one -- I'll keep trying. I have had my car (SN 112.1094) for 16+ years and have driven it just over 30,000 miles. The car is a blast to drive on winding mountain roads. The carbs, timing chains, and exhaust make the music. When stopping for gas or lunch a crowd of people always swarm around asking questions and often guessing that the car is 1-3 years old. Enjoy Anderson
David, I hope to drive with you, when my car (#1068) is completed. I am just south of you, in N.M. ________ Nice group of cars.
Interesting... In California whenever I'm sharing a Countach at a stop, I'm astonished how much people seem to know about it, often almost pinpointing the exact year with questions like: "Is that a '78 or a '79?" for example). At the very least even the most casual observers seem to know what era its from with questions like: "these came in the 80s before the Diablos right?". Ive never had someone guess a 32 year-old 1979 Countach is 1-3 years old (!!!), but I suppose when one's age is underestimated that's a compliment
i have to say a lot of people is amazed that they are 30 years old now most know the car is old but not so much
Hi Joe, I think the biggest factor in car-age knowledge is the location. California is the biggest car state in the USA, and probably the world. So many car-related things originated in CA, and people are more car crazy in CA than anywhere else. I lived in CA for 17 years, so I know first-hand. But here in CO, exotic cars are kind of like fish out of water. People really don't know much about exotics compared to people in CA, especially SoCal. A 1970 Challenger will get more thumbs up and excitement than a Countach, mostly because CO is more muscle car/off-roading/pick up country, and everyone knows muscle cars, but hardly anybody knows exotics. One thing I miss the most about CA is the exotic car culture and events that are really lacking here, relatively speaking, that is.
Yes, you are right, 4302 is the Read car. Is wrong the official entry list ?!. Is written owner Fouladi, but at 40th Miura this car was with Fouladi and not with Read.
