That sounds like #0101 then right?
Perhaps he was the one who crashed the car, that would explain a lot.

Here's a picture from a picture on the wall I took in the Museum in Dosso recently.
It's not very good visible, but I think I see a third seat in the back,
wich makes me believe this is #0102.

I don't know what is written on the picture.

    Ciao!

Ah! Well if you can confirm that story, Olivier, then I'm going with 101 being the first production (delivered) 350GT. Makes sense -- and 102 was maybe the 4th. Clearly 103 and 104 were delivered before 102.

so I'm going with (production/delivery order):

    101
    103
    104
    102

    fwiw! :)

Ermano Keller owns #0106, and is indeed back in it's original color Azzurro Marmolada. I think it could be the car in the middle of the picture I just posted.

Hey Marcel, why is it that all the photos I have of 106 have it as dark metallic blue? Did he really change it back to the light "Robin's Egg" blue?

Can someone here please post some good color pics of a 3 seat interior ? I have seen only black and white snippets thus far.

    Yes, really nice!

You know that there is also one 400 GT 2+2 originally delivered in this pretty color!
That's Robert's #0523, wich is dark blue nowadays...

Correct Fred! It was first presented at the Villa d'Este Concours in light blue.
Remember that Jack saw and pictured the car while he was there.

    So what's the point about #102 ?
Or what do you meant about #103 & #104 ?

I think Fred is saying that #0102 does not have to be the oldest 350 GT in existance, what everybody is claiming nowadays (including myself, haha!)

If you look at the Touring bodynumbers, it is indeed possible that #0103 and #0104 were build earlier, but in this case that is not correct.

It is true however that #0102 was delivered two weeks after #0103.

But what is far more interesting, is the fact that the 5 early 350 GT's in one picture,
is most likely taken after the delivery of #0102. By the time there were two red cars produced, #0102 was in Switzerland already.

That's the reason I don't believe that the grey 2 seater car with white&red badge is #0102!
    #0102 was a 2+1 seater.

    Ciao!

Correct Marcello. The previous owner of #102 made a number of claims about it, but there were other cars delivered before it was. We all know that chassis number does not have all that much to do with delivery order...and this is one case in point.

I really love the very early (first few) cars. There is something very elegant about them.

    Cheers,

    Fred

I now own #0523. It is dark blue now. I always wondered if Marmolada was Italian for "really strange looking marmelaide that I would never put on my toast". Just for refreshers, here's a pic:

Beside the color #0523 has another special feature; there is no chrome around the headlights. Only other 400GT2+2 I know without this chrome is #0421, this makes me believe that the first 400GT2+2 were delivered without this chrome. #0421 is production #2, #0523 is production #8

#0104 is the 1st 350 GT to match its owner's criterias... or order specifications !

Who owns it actually & where ?

Here is a pic from an auction...

Yes, the early ones had no chrome. A cool look! and I may ultimately move from my ovals to that look.

Hey -- i can do what I want with my car....right?

    Hi Olivier,

I've always thought that 104 was really the first "real" delivered car. 103 is just so strange -- no idea what happened to it. Do you have any idea?

    Cheers,

So what's with that blue interior??? ;^D

Do you know...that the car was delivered with what the factory considers a 350 engine??

    True.

do you have motor 484 in there?

    Cheers,

    Fred

Fred, I agree with you that this a cool look and you can do whatever you want with your car, although I prefer to see original cars ... Too bad that some of these early 400GT2+2 received a non-original restoration (f.e. chrome mounted during restoration). This is not the first time wrong things were added during a restoration.

Who knows which 400GT2+2 this is? Also without the chrome. Was for sale earlier this year with California registration 3 BQK 309.

Nice looking car Kevin. (no idea which one it is) I might do my lights like that next. The tick is simply to keep the old parts so you can switch back if necessary, and I have them all.

MANY 400GT 2+2s (etc) received non-original restorations for a number of reasons. Primarily, without any service manual (thanks to Ferruccio) nobody really knew how to work on them. Expensive cars thereby received horrible servicings. A shame, really -- but that's life. Finally they are coming to their own!

    Cheers,

    Fred
