Looking for opinons on the value of this 2004 360 spider with almost 30,000 miles. I saw the car in person...paint looks very good (White) with tan leather that shows minimal wear for the milage. Records show last belt change was in 4/2008. Records also show rocker panels and front bumper re-spray to the tune of $9,500 in 2007 and another front respray for 3,500 in 2009. It is a manual 6 sp...I did not find any records of clutch being changed. Overall, the car was impressively clean. Any thoughts on this car would be appreciated. Sorry I am unable to provide a link....the car can be found a newportcoastauto.com I believe there are multiple factory white 360 spiders out there can anybody verify this ?

    Thank you,

    Mark

My gosh, who in the world did the paint work, God himself? Seems crazy high when most front bumper resprays should be close to $1k. Car needs cam belt change, and miles are high. 90-95k depending on options, but I would look for a lower mile 2002 or newer.

I'd say high 80s. It is a 04, but it does have 30k on it. Going to need belts done too. Add another 3-4k for that.

Whatever about the 2009 respray the bill for the 2007 work suggests that there must have been damage repaired. That of itself doesn't make it a "walk away" car but maybe not being told the truth does? Is it still in the same owner's hands? Has he an explanation for $10k worth of paint to front bumper and rockers?

The paint work was performed by Premier in southern Calif. A quick scan of the records did not reveal any body work , only paint. I believe that this dealership recently aquired this car from the original owner when it failed to sell by owner. Can anyone with greater computer skills than I post a link to this car at : newportcoastauto.com

Front bumper/rocker respray doesn't cost anywhere NEAR $9500. Either the customer was way overcharged (insurance claim maybe?) or there was more work done.

In regards to whether there are multiple white ones - I know of one other white 6spd spider that was for sale a year or so ago with about half the miles, also at a dealer in Cali.

There are also two white F1 spiders that I know of personally (I'm sure there are more). One is a white with blue/black interior with about 15k miles (potentially for sale - I just spoke with the owner the other day), and the other one was a Dubai VIN (same vin sequence as US cars but still seen as a gray-market car to most people) car that used to be owned by an Fchatter - 2004 white/black F1. I'm not sure where this car is now.

I just bought an F1 04 spyder for 105K. Had 17k miles and some after market stuff like sterio and carbon fiber. I then proceded to have a major service done and new brakes because I wanted it in as good a shape as possible even though they were not technically due.

Based on my experience I would say high 80-mid 90's for the car pictured. You will pay a bit more for a dealer car. A nice balance may be 100K with the belts changed out.

I also mentally prepare to spend 5-10 percent of purchase price on immediate maintance needs which allows me to get the car as mechanically sound as possible, and limits the heartbreak if there is a problem that shows up.

Thank you Greg...that's the one. The dealers claim that this is the only white (Factory) 360 in the country...i don't think so

See my post above. There are at least 3 others (one other 6spd and 2 F1s)

You are correct. Not the only one. Nice sales tactic if you believe it ;)

Somewhere in the $90's, probably 90-95k. IMO $80's would be an exc buy, $100's too much given needs a full service and has higher mileage.

I looked hard for 6 months and bought an 04 spider in Aug '11 (red/tan 3 pedal 15k tubi 430 wheels, just completed full service plus brakes before I bought it, had clean history, all docs, service history, all keys fobs codes tools etc. exc shape). Paid $100K from an individual. I suspect it would have been more from a dealer. It's lots of fun. Take ur time and get the one you want... they aren't going anywhere and only going down in price. U r the buyer in a buyers market. Don't settle.
