there are special miuras (Bob Wallace told special miuras were built for the press ) as there are special countach

Martini red DD was quite a bit faster than regular QVs with a top speed of well over 300 Km/h
it is not a surprise that his car was often used for magazine tests

also one thing should ne noted
special tuned engines are really rare, but special cars were more common

as an example the unique color-interior cars, special options, different interior items, stereos...etc etc
and this is more true for the older cars (pre anniversary)

the cars built for Achilli are a good example

Emilio: You are right. Pierluigi Martini's QV DD was a full second faster to 60, and 15 mph faster at top end, as compared to a standard QV DD. That's is a huge performance increase in relative terms.

+15 mph for a car with a Cd of 0.40 means about 20% HP increase. Amazing ! What kind of engine modification was that ?

I am posting 4 photos of my LP400S in two parts (tries, actually). These were taken last Thursday on Colorado's Peak to Peak scenic highway. I have had the car for 16+ years and driven it just over 30,000 miles. The car is very original and in top condition (for a car that is driven).

Last Thursday saw the aspen in full plumage and the air had that crisp fall feel to it. There was virtually no traffic and the roads were in top shape. People stopped to look at the car at several of the photo stops that I made. People are stunned by these cars and can't ask enough questions as they study the lines.

    Enjoy.

I picked my 14 year old son from his soccer game yesterday driving the Countach. Its fun to see the enthusiasm in people. I had one lady ask if my son would take her daughter out on a date, that left him studying some lines.

    Nice Countach David!

    CAR TROUBLE

Walter Payton hasn`t had much luck with cars lately, but that could turn around. Payton, as you probably know, was in traffic court Tuesday to testify against a driver who was convicted of smashing his Porsche with a metal chain after a wild ride on Hwy. 53. But brighter days on the road could be ahead for Payton if his ad in the current issue of the Robb Report bears fruit: His Lamborghini Countach is listed there for sale. The metallic blue vehicle was given to Payton by the shoe company he endorses when he broke the NFL all-time rushing record, and, according to the Robb Report, which bills itself as the magazine for connoissuers: ``Payton maintained his car meticulously until he recently traded it for a new Testarossa.`` And what is Sweetness asking for the car? A sweet $79,000. Just a note: The license plate on Payton`s Porsche reads IOU ZIP.

Interesting. I was told by that he was stopped for speeding at 3-digit numbers on multiple occasions and Mike Ditka thought the car was a liability..

Very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing your comments and images.
I think you didn't took any videos of the car or driving or anything, just images? :)
(Love to hear the sound onboard, but that's OK if not possible :) )

Another white 'F1' Countach, this time Sir Frank Williams', taken on Friday May 9th, 1975 at the Williams 'garage' in Monaco. Converted from 35MM slide, hence poor quality.

In 1989 there was a car show traveling around with a blue/tan countach that they were supposedly going to give away. Does anybody remember this car or know where it is now?

Nice and interesting pic. The dent on the back fender reminds my of the well used French LP400 :)

And whats that black paint, some anti corrosion stuff?
