NOLA northshore Steve! You're killing me!!?!! You TurboDog! (Meant in good fun)

Abita products five weeks before Katrina hit caused me to:

    Lose $$$$ at N O Casino downtown

Da-n near miss my flight out the next morning

Use a barf bag on a commercial flight for the first time EVER.

    Have a rowdy hangover.

    It's obviously all your fault!

I had a gnarly IPA when I was in Mammoth CA last month. Its from Mammoth brewing company, called 395 IPA. It's made with sage. If you like extremely bitter IPAs, get your hands on the 395

Mergers/acquisitions continue. Not likely to be a good thing, but beer prices at retail (at least here in these parts) seem competitive and tasty.
    Fosters? No. 'Bita me. Baby.
The craft brewing biz here in Michigan is full-speed ahead!
Meanwhile, cases of Labatt Blue are $14.99/15.99 cans. Ontarians, eat your barley out.

Who drinks fosters? I've never seen anyone drinking or buying it.

I've had it once and not a fan.

Guilty, I'm a sucker for a good marketing campaign that included being the official beer of F1. Probably been a couple years since I drank it regularly though.

Perhaps I should have listened to PAP...

Not too many Wombats in NOLA though. :D

    Newcastle Werewolf "blood red ale".
A friend knowing that I'm partial to Newcastle stumbled on this and bought some for me.
Wretched stuff* to my taste but ostensibly new and perhaps appreciated by others.
    * dedicated stock for another friend who does his best to exhaust my beer supply on every visit.

Dixie still exists but is now brewed in Wisc.

I like the fosters in the green can. Much better than the blue can generic pisswater.

Green can taste more like an IPA or just a plain British bitter.

I don't think I've ever seen the green can. Is it readily available in your neck of the woods or at specialty stores/bars?

I'll check a couple places near me that carry the unusual stuff.

I just tried Stone Brew's Double Bastard Ale. It made my hair stand up. I actually enjoy a little at a time, its pretty nuts. Definitely something you have to try though. I was pretty buzzed after a single (large) bottle. I think its somehwere around 12%

Just a local bar I stop into every once in a while. I was just in the right place at the right time. They only had 12 bottles. Well..........they had 8 left when my friend and I departed. Then he went back today and took 2 more out as carry out. $30/bottle and it pains me to say it was worth it ! I read on line only 1700 bottles released. Beer advocate says they are ranking it the 5th best beer ever reviewed right now.
