    Hey guys,

Here are a few recent sales that i know about...real numbers:

    1) Lambo of Texas just sold a 3500mile red/ stripe 08 for $186. No CPO.
    2) Non-franchise dealer in San Diego just sold a 09 3000mile red/ stripe for $199 (ish). No CPO.
    3) Ferrari dealer in San Diego just sold a 09 with 400 miles for $202. Red/ stripe. MSRP warranty and CPO through 03/13.
    4) Same dealer in San Diego has their yellow/ stripe 08 with 8000 for between $179-185. CPO.

All of the above cars had basically the same options with with the same MSRP of around $300k. The exception of #2 (had a MSRP of $325k) and #3 that had a power cube through 03/13.

All but #4 are done deals.

Also, call on the ads of the for sales. At least 25% are NOT REAL cars for sale. Dealers who haven't changed their sites or 3rd party sites that scraped the dealers info off their sites. In other words, bogus info. Call a few...you will discover what I did...cars don't exist.

How do I know all of this? Because I have been looking. Fact is, market for nice 08/09 Scuds has woken up and the market is hot. How long with it last...who knows.

    Good luck!

In the UK prices are now much firmer than earlier in the year due to a much lower number of cars for sale. I guess earlier in the year there were nearly 30 Scuds for sale, now it's low single figures. Probably coincides with Scud owners upgrading to 458 and causing a glut - as always supply and demand dictate the price. The Scud is an absolutely wonderful and iconic car and I think prices will soon be reflecting just how good it is - now seems to be a great time to get one if you can as I think prices will stay firm for quite a while.

    Agreed.

Add this to the mix. The new Scud is going to be priced (according to someone I spoke to AT Ferrari) $150,000 MORE than the 458.

    $379,900 base msrp.

What will that do to the prices/ values of Scuds and CS's?

And a year or two after the 458 Scud comes out, someone will start a thread about how prices are collapsing on them..

Let's say my budget today is for a higher mileage scuderia, say 7-10k mi, with fewer options (basic fabric interior, minimal CF). Is it worth waiting ~6months for 3 things to 'potentially' happen a) perhaps scuderia prices fall another $8-10K, b) I save up a bit more money, c) economy improves a bit.

Bite the bullet and buy what I can afford today, or be patient and buy a lower mileage / higher optioed scuderia next year? Logic says be patient, however, as much inventory is out there, the good one are getting snatched up pretty quickly. This concerns me. Do we think more people will continue to trade out of their scuderias for 458, or will it slow down?

I do have a nice car that I'm driving now, so I'm in an ok position ot hold out through winter / spring.

    Thoughts?

Check the yellow 08 out at Ferrari San Diego. Worth high $160s to 170. Great car WITH a CPO.

I think it will slow, the peak changeover point is passed. Same thing happened with the CS, owners upgraded to early 430's and there was a glut, prices fell for a period and have since moved back up and been very strong.

In my opinion I think the scuds will not drop much more in price. Scuds have already come down to a very attractive price range. Many assume the prices will continue to drop. The prices could fall a bit more in the middle of winter but once spring rolls around I actually think the prices will rise a bit, I truly do. My advice is to keep looking and if you find the perfect car for you BUY IT, dont let it get away. No sense letting a great car go over a few thousand bucks.

I feel the time is now to buy a scud. Look at the late model F430 standard car, 08's and 09's F430's are almost the same value than a mid mileage scud, do it now!

To back Zinger up....look at the market, actual recent sales. Scuds ARE selling. That $200k mark seemed to be a psychological threshold for many.

Why is the yellow one with 14k at F of Palm Beach so cheap?

the only obvious 'problems' with that car are:

    1) Miles (who cares for that price...14k)
    2) No US CF package. Probably and early 08 and the CF wasn't avail.

From what I understand from our resident Scud Guru (F430GT) that car seems to be priced correctly. Search for his formula on Scud pricing.

Appears to have great options overall.

Check it out, do a PPI, check to see if it has a Power Cube. Offer them $155k..and if they accept it feel confident in knowing you got a great deal.

Fun/ Scary thought...in 08 someone probably paid $400k+ for that car. MSRP + market premium.

I was wondering the same thing.... though its 14k miles, yellow, no stripe, no carbon fiber asking $159,000 is CHEAP for any scud!! I dont know and I dont want to speculate but that listing needs to be checked out to a potential buyer for accident history, etc....Never seen a scud that cheap, not even close. I do know they have had that car for a rather long time and they keep dropping the price.

appears to have a clear bra as well....thus, no chips.

This may be a depreciation-proof Scud at this price!
