Where would you PPI the yellow Scud in Florida?
no idea. You could have the Ferrari dealer that owns the car give you the results of their inspection...obvious conflict of interest aside, you may want to have them PPI the car. TRY to get a CPO...costs the dealer $5-8k (not sure). CPO or not..sweet car, sweet price. I wouldn't wait. Honestly.
If you want a scud and you can do yellow, JUMP ON THIS!!! You wont see another one this cheap anytime soon in my opinion. I would call them today and get a deposit in place pending PPI etc... so she doesn't get away. I cant help on finding an independent to PPI the car, however, their are many F car owners in South Florida, hopefully they will chime in. What a deal, I would get the Warranty thrown in for a year and get er done....
Actually, the car is priced above market value. Market price for the Yellow car is $155,800. Assuming it passes a PPI with flying colors, and there isn't a story with it. I would request if the car was part of the FDE, given the number of FDE cars entering the market. If this car was a FDE Scuderia, I would not offer more than $145k, and assuming the PPI came fine, CCB rotors and clutch in good shape, and everything is perfect. Yellow cars take a $5k hit on resale, Silverstone, White and cars have a $5k stronger resale value. The special colors have an even better resale. Scuderias with leather interior instead of Alcantara don't sell as quick.
Rad, how do you identify a FDE car? The only connection seems to be a CARFAX with no history information at all. Here is a perfect example. It is a low mileage car, with no stripe, but seems to be reasonably priced. Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STUNNING-430-SCUDERIA-ROSSO-CORSA-AS-NEW-FULL-MANUFACTURERS-WARRANTY-/140621284131?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item20bdae8323
I don't think it is possible to identify it from a Carfax, but not having a Carfax record does not sound right, as it proves it was not titled and how do you put 2,000+ miles on car with no title? I would request the window sticker, and original sales invoice. FDE cars were not in the hands of private owners, but under FNA. The problem I see in the future is once the 2nd owners buy these FDE cars, it will be more challenging to trace them.
My thoughts exactly. Im happy you started the thread about the VINs for the FDE cars. I have been in and out of the Scud market for a while. Still looking for the right one. I'm content with the F430 for now. Might just go to the 458 in time.
Was there a price difference between the option for leather vs alcantara interior? Also from your observations, have there been price differences based on leather vs alcantara in the used market? One would think based on your above comment that leather optioned cars would then cost a bit less if harder to sell. Thanks
I haven't seen a price difference between cars with leather and alcantara that I could use to quantify the difference. These are the options: Alcantara Trim Interior INTA $4,362 Leather Trim Interior INTP $5,273
Interesting to note that whilst SCUD prices in Switzerland have now stabilized at lower levels, 458's & 599's are over the summer -50K+ and CS's about -20K, very little is selling, although my previous CS seems to have gone
So this Scuderia left FM San diego (2 weeks ago) with lowest ask price of $177,000. Now its for sale at CNC Motors with an ask price of $189.999: http://www.cncexotics.com/detail-2008-ferrari-f430-scuderia-used-7915486.html And this Scuderia... http://www.cavallomotorsports.com/catalog/ferrari/2009-ferrari-430-scuderia.html was offered by Cavallo Motors up 'till about 4 weeks ago for $109K. Now its being offered by Lake Forest for $105K http://www.lfsc.com/2009-ferrari-430-scuderia--c-251.htm I guess at the end of the day, its a business. And in any product-based situation, inventory turn is paramount. If it doesn't sell, it gets wholesaled to another retailer to make room for 'fresh' inventory. Maybe its a 'cut our losses' strategy. DL
I saw that particular scud at LFSC again today. The dual Italian stripes is easily my favorite livery I've seen with the scuderia. It's really an awesome look.
Yea, it's a cess pool of people/dealers trying to capitalize as much as they can, don't get in a rush, market is dropping fast now, the SF dealer 'might' have sold it for $155k. I'll know monday. Your on a board of market makers btw, they will not be able to sustain these asking prices for much longer, I see fair market value for good LOW mile SCUD approaching $160k fast.
Bob the guys usually quoting the low prices are the guys who cannot afford to buy one, let alone a model of one. My friend just sold his Scud through an authorized Ferrari Dealership here in Southern California, and he got top dollar for his perfect car. So I don't where these guys are getting their prices from.
I can tell you the same happened with my F430 spider sold through a dealer a few months ago. The price was much higher than people on Fchat said it should go for.
I believe it, as noted before the guys usually quoting the phantom prices, or the cars with some kind of issue, are non owners. Usually they don't fill out a profile, or have ever owned one of these cars. But hey, its okay to dream, just don't piss on others who already own these cars.
As a Scud owner, I find it hilarious that people are pointing out that these cars are depreciating, rapidly or otherwise. Hopefully, I and other Scud owners are at least of average intelligence, and we knew they would lose value going in! What car produced in these numbers wouldn't?? In the meantime, I've spent the last 18 months driving a fabulous car, and life is too short to be sitting around worrying about depreciation!! I should go and drive it again... Best, Paul
I probably lost 10 grand in the first 4 weeks of having my car....put 600 miles on it since getting it....worth every penny!
Hello, Even in a seemingly anonymous community, my intention was never to offend (e.g., piss on others) anyone. I believe most of us are intelligent individuals, and as an intelligent individual, I don't see anything wrong with trying to make a purchase at the best possible market values. That is all I'm trying to do. So, sorry if I offended anyone. Scuderias will depreciate whether I buy one or not. And the day I purchase one, I move from the "depreciation is good for me" camp to the "depreciation is bad for me" camp. But as many have pointed out, I also move from "dreaming of owning a Ferrari" to "priceless thrills and exhileration!" And I'm crossing my fingers that I make the switch soon!!! Cheers, DL
That's terrific. They can't depreciate significantly forever or Scuds will be worthless in a year or two. Of course, that's not gonna happen. Buy you when you can afford it and then drive it to enjoy it. The rest is insignificant. If it were significant, none of us would ever buy one. What a dull world that would make.
