Sorry mate, obviously misunderstood your analogy. I think of the 348 as the fit blonde underware model. If you were comparing them to the fat one with bad breath, but that's what you like ..... Not to worry mate, I probably got the wrong end of the stick, just came across that you didn't think much of the 348. Thanks for putting me right in that you agree it's a great car. :)

Yea i owned my 348 for over 6 years. Meaning that i had lived with it for years longer than most other owners on here.
But again the question that was asked was "what other exotic from the 1990 was better than the 348".
I said it was a matter of opinion and named the Diablo and also the Testarossa.

About my above opinion regarding the phrase " i could have bought a 355 but bought a 348". I stand by my guns with that, one only really hears that from the 348 owners. And i called BS on SOME who said that.
Interesting how a few felt they had to exclude themselves from that, i said SOME not all. So which bit is untrue?
But none of this said that i did not think the 348 was a good car, but there are better.
There is a repeating pattern that keeps cropping up on this section. The 348 guys like to dish out jibes at 355 owners but once reversed dummies get thrown out of prams no matter how tounge in cheek.
Also some oine mentioned that maybe i should be removed from the brotherhood. First back in my 348 days, there was no "brotherhood". And now 355s are not in the brotherhood anyway.

and if the answer, as you put it, is the Diablo and the Testa, then I would say the 348 is doing pretty darn good if those are the two that beat it out

I always stay out of this type of negative banter but what is the point of all of this thread at this point. All this does is put more stuff on the internet trashing our cars. The bottom line is we all bought what we bought for our own reason. I love my 348. I like 355's and 360's and 458's and so on.

We should all appreciate the Ferrari line for what it is. A beautiful pain in the ass. They all have the good and the bads. While the 348 may have issues with one thing, the 355 has issues with plenty of things as well. They are both awesome and you have to have a passion to put up with all the negatives to see the positive.

As far as what is better. Well, I have owned and driven Porsches that will run as well or better than both the 348 and 355 and NEVER broke down. Reliable, fast and fun with nearly no headaches.

But, at the end of the day, it is just a car. The Ferrari is a different animal. We drive them for the excusivity, passion, history and the excitement only a Ferrari seems to bring. Whatever model brings this to each person, more power to you and enjoy.

I for one love and respect them all. And for those that feel the need to trash another model because you own the "better" one....what are we compensating for?

And hey, if we are going to pick on cars, lets pick on Porsches....LOL.

Motor Trend isnt even a worthwhile magazine. They practically have to give away the subscription for people to even buy and read it(I think it is under $10.00 year). Moreover, most people who write for magazines have very little seat time in the cars they are writing about.

Anyone else feel this thread is slowly drawing to a close? Everyone thinks the 348 is great.... Other than Motor Trend..... But they're rubbish. Does that paraphrase it ok?

p.s. Would love to see a copy of the Brotherhood mag of only to see what Sy wrote about himself!

Yes thats the other issue i have.
Were is Andy Hills these days? I have been for a track ride a few times with him at FOC events over the years. Now he has made the performance of his modded 348, what the 348 should have been.

I may have a couple left for sale. If I have and you want to buy them I'll send you the contact details of the chap that printed it.

Haven't seen him for ages. I think he's still a bit upset I got more pages in the 348 magazine than he did. :D :D

Think he's coming to the Marines Day Track Day at Brands next month. I think he's bringing the Caterham though.

No, it makes perfect sense. The fact that you've cherished them all this time tells me that you can't quite break free from that inner voice telling you how great the 348 really is. Once a member of the Brotherhood, always a member of the Brotherhood. No matter how hard you now deny it we all know it's true. Somewhere in a corner of your soul you yearn for the true feeling of a sports car; the purity of unpower assisted steering, the joy of feeling of the car reacting as it should, unhampered by electronic dampers. The 348 still calls to you and the louder you deny it and the more you turn away, the stronger it calls. You will never be free!

Either that or you just need a bit of a tidy out.

    Gentlemen:

I've stated this previously. Who cares what anyone says about the 348. It's YOU who owns and drives a f**kin' Ferrari.

The last of the true, "hairy chested" Ferraris. No power steering, no ABS, no bull ****. Driving the 348 well is totally dependent upon YOUR skills as a driver, not on mechanical aides.

    Long live the 348.
