It is really a great job !
Thanks, boredom, mesh, tools and a week alone will do things like that. I'm still messing with things and love to tinker. I've seen and heard your work too...awesome. --Mike
It sure does look nice but the one on the 355 fronting the racing lights is the way to go. To me the only drawback is that on the 348, by adding the back grill you are putting fake and non-functional behind fake and non-functional. Sort of like those fake screens you can put on ducts on the C-5 and C-6 Corvettes. It's definitely going to be harder to remove bugs and grime once it gets past the grill on either the 348 or 355 version but it does look better though.
I don't disagree with your assesment and I appreciate the honesty. The thing for me is that I could not change "fakeness" of the original grille, but wanted to add a more finished and functional look to it without changing it all together. This seemed like a reasonable and effective alternative. It really does finish off the car when you see it in person. Thanks again for being straight.
Yes, Iding did this more than 12 years ago and it was very innovative...there was an Iding 355(yellow) in Dave Helm's shop a year or two ago and he sent me a bunch of pics.....very cool car.
