    So I need to take my wheels off my 355. Question, can anyone direct me were the jack stand points are on the car. I would hate to place the jack someplace I shouldn't. Also, how about the alarm system. As I need to press the button to deactivate before staring, will the alarm go off if I start jacking up the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you for the pic, makes it a lot easier. dosen't look like you can put the car on jack stands.

    If I needed to jack up the rear end using 1 jack and 2 stands, what would be the correct procedure?

    ie: If I put the jack on one of the 2 rear points, how would I be able to install 2 stands at that time? - since the jack is already on one point where the stand should be...

    This is the way I do it. Jack one side at a time and place the stand under there on the subframe. :)

    Nah, I had an oil leak, jacked it up, repaired/cleaned and hosed off. :D:D

    For the jack and stands, any recommended specs? I know jacks can have varying capacities, but is getting a bigger one always better? Same for stands? (or should I just go for the curb weight capacity)

    The trolley jack I have is rated at 1200kg, but has lifted A LOT more. :eek:

    The jack stands are also rated at 1200kg, I bought all of it as a "pack".

    When this trolley jack wears out (seals are leaking now) I want to get one of those lowered 2000kg alloy racing jacks. Two pumps and it's at full stroke. Similar to the Nascar type. :D

    You just need to find a trolley jack that fits under the car and stands around a foot tall at rest and you will be fine. Stick to at least 1200kg rated or more.

    Excellent!! Good to hear.

    I keep telling myself I will get one when this jack ****s itself.........................I said that 3-4 yrs ago and this one still works fine as long as I keep topping the oil up. :p

    It's only a matter of time before the piston seals wear out and it doesn't work ***and the car comes crashing down on my head*** :eek::eek:

    It shouldn't come crashing down Pap, it'll be more of a slow crushing ;)
    I'm thinking Santa will be getting a good low profile jack for Xmas :D

    The frame doesn't twist as you jack up & brace just one side? Or that wont matter?

    Gentlemen,
    Although my prior diagram was correct, many have used two other points for jacking that are closer to the center of the car - I added these points in the updated diagram below.

    The engine cradle jacking points will not tweak or twist the frame in any way - I highly recommend using a hockey puck, hard rubber or block of wood between the jack stand and the engine cradle jacking points shown on the diagram.

    Hey Guys

    SHould I place the jack at A B or C? (all points on the cross frame below the gear box, etc)...

    If I jack the car from the middle of the beam (C), won't it raise both sides at once and allow me to put 2 jack stands in?

    DO NOT JACK in the middle of the beam, it is weak and I have seen it bent on 348 and 355.

    On a side note, I also saw a broken cluch cover from jacking too.
