I have been posting in two seperate threads (my fault) and wanted to give an update on the Grille Mesh without having everyone bounce back and forthe. I hope this is alright.

I have the tester lined up and ready to go. I will be shipping to him on Wednesday. Hopefully he will have time to do the review ASAP and if all goes well....we will be a go.

I have one update. I spoke to a powder coater today to get an idea on having the grilles powder coated. My thought on this are that since the grille will probably take a fair amount of abuse on the front of the car, the powder coat will be much more durable.

The other reason is that for those who want it in silver, the powder coat will protect it better than raw aluminum and probably look nicer.

With the extra cost, would $55.00 a piece plus shipping be fair if I get them powder coated? I was going to offer them on ebay for $80.00 pluse shipping. I think the end result will be much more durable than paint.

Let me know what you guys think and I will set things up.

I will post this in the other threads but will probably continue the rest of the discussion on this thread for simplicity. Sorry for the multiple threads.

    Thanks to all.

    George

How easy are these to install? Do I need to remove the front bumper?

No bumper removal at all. It takes about 5 minutes (tops) and requires no drilling or modifications. Check out the other threads for 348 Grille Mesh. It shows pics of the grille. It comes with detailed instructions but is SUPER EASY and can be done at home with nothing more than a screwdriver and can be taken off just as easy.

    Hope this helps.

Please keep in mind that the Spider Grille may not work with this upgrade. It was designed for the 348 TB/TS which have a slighty different Grille. I am waiting for a donor car to modifiy this to fit the Spider and hopefully will have one soon. Please check your grille no matter what model you have and make sure it is the same as one pictured in the survey thread before ordering.

The first grille went out today to the "tester". He should have it thursday so I am hoping he will get the chance to install it soon. If all goes well I am going to run off a group of 25. Once they are made, I will be sending them to the Powdercoater (who I hope can do them for the price he qouted) and they should be ready to ship by the end of next week.

Please keep in mind that the front grille will only work if your grille is like the one I have pictured in the survey and other post. If you have a spider, I think the grille is different. Please check.

I am hoping to be able to develop one for the Spider and the 355 soon. I am waiting for a couple donor cars to come through. If anyone is interested and lives close to south jersey, I will install the front and rear grilles for free.

    Thanks again.

PM me when you get a Spider version. NC is too far away or I would let you use it for a template

Well....hear it is. The grille mesh is officially for sale through Ricambi. Daniel from Ricambi is awesome and has made it super simple to purchase the grille. Go to www.ricambiamerica.com and search for part# 348-MESH-1.

After getting the final costs for powdercoating, the final FChat special price was going to be $60.00 plus $15.00 flat rate for shipping. Ricambi has made it simple by listing this special, until November 6th, 2011, at a flat rate of $75.00 shipping inlcuded for FChat members. Once the special is over, Ricambi will be listing the Grille for $85.00 plus shipping.

By accessing the product (PART#: 348-MESH-1) through Ricambi you can now have numerous options for payment which makes it even easier to get the grille. Plus, we all know the outstanding reputation of Daniel and Ricambi. I cannot thank them enough.

For those that requested the grille powdercoated in Silver, please indicate that in the notes section of the order process. This is a special offer to FChat members only during this special. Otherwise it will be shipped Powdercoated black.

Of course complete instructions are included. Please read the review by Brent for further details.

Thank you to everyone, especially Brent and Daniel, and please allow 2 weeks to receive the grille.
