    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that Fabspeed now has 355 cat bypass pipes (test pipes) in stock and ready to ship! These pipes are a factory replacement size and will fit any 355. Whether you have a failing cat or are just looking for some more power and sound, our cat bypass pipes are a great alternative. They are made from T304 stainless steel and come with the required bungs for your o2 sensors.

If you are interested or have any questions, please PM or email me. I will be able to offer a discount to board members. Thanks!

How do you manage around all the check engine lights?

I would think you would get CAT inefficient codes Right Hand & Left Hand as well as 1445 & 1449 for lack of a thermocouple.

Is there a work around - or - does the owner just pull the CEL bulb?

Not knocking the product even a little bit. They look great and I am interested....just curious how some issues might be handled....that's all.

Good question... well, if you don't upgrade the ECU, there is really know way to guarantee that the CEL will stay off. o2 Sensor extenders will help... they will delay the CEL from coming on, but it may still come on at some point. By upgrading the ECU, we can squeeze out about 15 more hp while also reducing the sensitivity of the rear lambda sensors.

By the way, if you have a MY 95 355, you are in the clear since you do not have rear o2 sensors. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Yes, our pipes are designed to work with your existing thermocouples. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Hi Jeff, I have your headers and high flow cats with a stage 3 Capristo. I will send you a video. Your yellow 355 would sound so much better without that Tubi. Missing that Formula 1 sound IMO

Hi Jeff and all. What is the difference between the high flow cats and the test pipes?
Why would someone choose one over the other? Are there advantages / disadvantages to each?
My '98 355 F1 is currently stock, but next year I'd like to add Fabspeed headers and high flow cats as well as a Capristo stage 1.
Do you have any information on power / torque gains with a setup like that?
    Many thanks, Steve.

    Hi Steve,

The difference between high flow cats and test pipes is the cat. A test pipe is a cat bypass section. A test pipe will not pass most emissions tests. A test pipe will typically make a few more horsepower since there is less restriction, but that power is made in the higher levels of the rev range.

I don't have dyno data on your proposed setup, but the addition of those components should yield about 20-25 hp. The more obvious difference is the sound though! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Jeff, I seem to remember reading that "some" restriction is necessary so there won't be damage to the valves/manifolds (or something upstream). Am I way off base; possible confusing some other "thing to look out for"?

    Thanks, Eddie

There probably isn't much difference in power between the two (I am sorry to say!). It is a pretty basic design with little different between them. We make a test pipe for all model years while hyperflow just makes them for the MY95 (OBD-I).

HypeFlow only makes a test pipe for MY95 because that is the only model year which can properly deal with a single O2 sensor. They have intentionally chosen to avoid test pipes on twin-O2 cars because they don't want to be involved in O2 simulators and extensions.

    Hi Eddie,

A certain amount of back pressure is necessary, but you aren't in danger of damaging the engine. There are many people that use test pipes on their 355s.

    Hi Jeff
You should show the 2nd ray cat bypass pipes that Fabspeed offers for the Ferrari 355 cars. All ferrari 355 cars have 4 catalytic converters. The Ferrari 355 headers have dual outlets on each respective header collector. You displayed the primary cat bypass pipe for all 355 cars.

Then there is a 2nd sets of factory ceramic catalytic converters that very often fails and clog up the top Y pipe. Fabspeed makes 2ndary cat bypass pipes for the 355 2.7 and 5.2 injection cars. These 2ndary cat bypass pipes are a simple easy to bolt on from onto of the engine. More sportscar sound and top end power.

    Jeff,

I'm very interested in these but don't want to upgrade my ECU. I don't want CEL's so I need to understand if there is a 100% proven method to use these pipes and not throw CEL's.

There is a guaranteed way, get the ECU reprogrammed. If you don't do that, it will throw codes. Pretty simple. I know, it's not cheap.
