Ok guys here we go. I received the front mesh grille today and it took about 10 minutes to install. That includes pulling the car out of the garage so I had better light to take pictures in. It is a very simple procedure and I really like how nice it looks. It took me longer to clean up the shredded paper packing material then it took me to install the grille:) (sorry George I hate that stuff).

The instructions are easy to follow and well done. Two points in the instructions that bears repeating. Refer to my picture #6 and #7. "Now that the factory grill is removed from the car, take the mounting screws and put them back in the mounting holes located on the factory grilles mounting tabs (not the mounting holes in the front bumper). Allow the screws to hang in the holes. This is the secret that allows the grille to be installed without a large hole cut in the mesh."

Picture #8 and #9. "Once the factory grille is pushed back and the mounting tabs are flush, insert a thin Philips screw driver through the closest grille mesh hole and tighten the 2 screws."

George, I don't know where you came from, but you are one smart dude. I think your Fchat handle should be "George the Magnificent"!! I can't wait to try out the rear mesh grille too. I've spent a lot more $$ in other upgrades for my 348 and got a lot less bang for the buck. This thing looks twice as nice in person. Guys better get in line, these are going to go like hot cakes and the price is right.

    Brent,

Wow..what a great write up!!!!!! I am so happy the grille worked out as designed. Your testimonial really makes all the work worthwhile and puts a huge smile on my face.

I will be posting a sale thread here with all the details on how members can get the grille very soon. I will also list the grille in the sale section on F-Chat and is already listed on Ebay. I am waiting for a "final" cost from the powdercoater. The shop is trying to give me a good price based on volume so I have to try to estimate how many may sell.

I listed the grille on Ebay for $85.00 pluse $20.00 shipping. It will be substantially less for FChat (Hopefully right at the $55.00 mark) I just want to get the final figures before I post the final information.

Thanks again Brent and to everyone who has followed this project.

    George

    Niether.

It is a metal mesh screening that was chosen for its durability, strength and because of the its very close pattern to the grille on the rear decklid of the 348.

It is definately not chicken or rabbit cage wire. LOL!!!!!

    Thanks for the laugh.

Never been on a farm? Both chicken wire and rabbit cage has far wider holes :)

I think it looks quite good, and does match the engine mesh almost identically. George, you should be proud of this one! Sell 'em fast, ship 'em faster!

The mesh looks fantastic and really gives the front end a purposful look. I wouldn't mind adding one to my car but wonder how it will fit as mine is one that came with the black trim around the opening.

Has this option been addressed yet?

    Copterjon,

The mesh sits behind the grill so as long as you have the same grille as pictured in Brents post, I do not beleive any trim around the opening will affect it. Can you post a pic of your grille. I may be able to tell by looking at the picture.

    Hope this helps.

Here is a pic but I'm not sure it will give you the right visual. Yes, the grill itself is the same but I'm thinking there might be some fitment issues due to the fact that the trim piece not only fits around the opening but goes inside as well.

    Copterjon,

I dont beleive you will have a problem. The grille has a little "wiggle" room that should be fine with the trim piece. If you decide to get one, I will always take it back if it does not fit, but I am pretty sure you will be fine.

    Thanks,

    George

I see you have them listed on Ebay but still not on Fchat, so the question is when will they be listed here, actually easier to list items on Fchat than Ebay.

I am getting ready to list them today. I am waiting for one call from a supplier and the FChat special will be listed today. Sorry for the delay.

    Thanks,

Well....hear it is. The grille mesh is officially for sale through Ricambi. Daniel from Ricambi is awesome and has made it super simple to purchase the grille. Go to www.ricambiamerica.com and search for part# 348-MESH-1.

After getting the final costs for powdercoating, the final FChat special price was going to be $60.00 plus $15.00 flat rate for shipping. Ricambi has made it simple by listing this special, until November 6th, 2011, at a flat rate of $75.00 shipping inlcuded for FChat members. Once the special is over, Ricambi will be listing the Grille for $85.00 plus shipping.

By accessing the product (PART#: 348-MESH-1) through Ricambi you can now have numerous options for payment which makes it even easier to get the grille. Plus, we all know the outstanding reputation of Daniel and Ricambi. I cannot thank them enough.

For those that requested the grille powdercoated in Silver, please indicate that in the notes section of the order process. This is a special offer to FChat members only during this special. Otherwise it will be shipped Powdercoated black.

Of course complete instructions are included. Please read the review by Brent for further details.

Thank you to everyone, especially Brent and Daniel, and please allow 2 weeks to receive the grille.
