(. Yes i did the search thingy) A little while ago, someone posted a vid of his 348 or 355 with a lightend flywheel. I remeber the engine jumping up in the revs! Does anybody know where this vid has gone? Since I am butchering in the clutch-area, I thought, why not go al the way? I am thinking confurting a duall-to single plate system, changing onlley the bearing on the throw-off unit and lightening the flywheel. Anyone?
That vid was from corsa1997 over in Japan...it was an experimental unit for the 355 produced by EXEDY. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZUxiLykyAM[/ame] I dealt with them for over a year trying to develope and import into the USA and had the rug pulled out from under me as they would not produce. I have since gone with a Michelloto clutch/flywheel assembly that is much lighter, but for $10K+ just for the flywheel and clutch plus $$$ for a completely redesigned propellar shaft it is pretty cool....the only way it can ever be used on the street is to now come up with triple disc with CF liners. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140329172&postcount=3 FBB is who you need to talk with if it is for a 348
The flywheel is different between the dual and single disc clutch on the 348; actually just the plate on the flywheel. I have a spare flywheel for a single disc clutch - if you want to swap flywheel plates we could help each other out as I want a spare for my dual disc clutch. PM fatbillybob, he had a neat solution for making the flywheel lighter and getting rid of the kluber grease and other rattling guts/pieces of the OEM flywheel.
