    Qualified and raced a friends BMW Club CMod E46 M3 this past weekend at Barber. Thought some of you guys might like to see some of the in-car footage from the event. My fast lap in the car was a 1:32.604 with a couple more laps just a few tenths off that time. Qualifying was in the morning so the track was cool and prime. The race times went down as the track got some afternoon heat in it.

    Seth........very very nice! (I understand that McLaren F1 GTR was a beast over there as well). Man what a nice track they have.

    You had a great lap time. I think the lap record is around a 1:09 in a champ car and for bikes around 1:23. I did it in my 308 in around 1:55.

    That was awesome. I drive an E46 M3 daily and it is far to heavy to have fun with on the track in stock form. Your video makes me wants to start pulling the interior out! Nice driving.

    I've been around that track, admittedly at pace-car speed (both as driver in my 308 and as passenger in Drew Altemara's F40), but it is a fun track, isn't it?

    Barber is a great track. I can't say enough about it with one exception, the straights aren't long enough for a car. It would be the best track in North America if it had a slightly longer straight.

    Someone asked if I had more pictures of the car. Unfortunately I don't as it is a friends car. I will see if I can get some pictures from him or next time I drive it I will get some.

    I totally agree, there are four straights on the track that need to each be 500' longer; then, perfect track.

    I talked to George Barber about that, about 3 years ago and he said they have plans for lengthening the back straight but don't know if it will ever come to fruition.

    I have heard that rumor for a couple of years. If they could lengthen it or take out the kink in the back section that would be perfect as the track is amazing how it now with the exception of a good long straight with a hard braking zone at the end of it. I don't know if you noticed in the video but I did shift to 5th on the back section for a brief period. I really didn't need to shift to 5th gear as the car had enough revs I could have held it in 4th. The reason I did was to relax the car a little bit and not keep it strung out. So honestly Barber is a 3rd-4th gear track for most production based cars. Give us something where we can use 5th gear for a period of time and it would be perfect!
