Sure you can Fred, and please do!
No offence, but a 400 GT 2+2 with ovals look kinda strange,
this look would look much better!

    Ciao!

    Fred,

Thanks - the interior is currently grey but I believe that the original interior was a tan or a tobacco colour. My engine is 484. Are you sure it's a 3.5 litre? I know that back window of mine s different and I've got a pretty funky rear suspension....

I really hope NL or B !!! Agree, not that expensive, but remember the green 350 GT at Retromobile went to Japan, and we had a few Vintage Lambo's here in Holland that went to the Middle East. Problem with that is that most likely, we will never see them again ;-( Ciao! Marcel

Hi Steve, I told you before that I suspected that your car would have most likely a Blue interior, because most of the 350 GT's that were painted Azzurro Marmolada, also had blue interiors.

Here is a picture of your car #0523 from a few years ago...I guess I was right ;-)

Now, If you really want to be "Cool & Superfunky" at Pebble Beach next year,
you should bring it back to original colors, and I'm sure you will score some points!

You will not only do yourself a favor, but the entire Vintage Lamborghini community,
because your car is the only 400 GT 2+2 original delivered in that unique 1960's color combination: Azzurro Marmolada with Bleu interior....

    We love it!!

    Ciao!

Yes --the first ones didn't have the chrome. I looked at one back around 2005 here in the bay area and thought that was the result of a poor restoration! oops!

I'll go back and look for that number...5-something

    Cheers,
    Fred

I understand, Marcel -- but my theory at the time (I was 28, I'm now 56) was "heck, the car was designed for the ovals -- 350GT that is -- damn it, I'm going to put the ovals in!"

You just couldn't tell me anything at that age. ;^D

    Fred
PS: Good grief -- I've had my 400GT 1/2 my life!!

    Hi Steve,

Sorry to leave you hanging -- sometimes I simply forget about FChat!

Yeah, it's true. They list your car as having a 350 motor. But then they list many cars as having a 350 motor when they in fact have 400 motors. ie: The Factory really doesn't know what they're talking about when it comes to interpreting the information they have.

just one for example -- Brian's #454 -- it's listed as having a 350 motor, but I've talked to him at length about it and the factory is simply wrong. It's a 4 liter engine.

Which makes me wonder if at one point they were using 350 blocks and putting 4-liter sleeves in them -- that would answer the question...but I have no idea.

    Cheers,

    Fred

PS: I'll go look at that video -- I'm sure it's cool!!

I'm sure they have not, but I'm from the Netherlands, and we smoke a lot of stuff that makes you feel freaky & funky, dig? Although Steve's car was originally delivered to Belgium, so at least one Belgium guy had some brain damage as well ;-)

    Ciao!

No need to worry Marcel, it’s not going far. 0358 is staying in the UK and will be residing alongside 01030, having been bought by my wife Angela. What, me influence her decision? Well, maybe a little... :)

I remebered that I have some documentation that came with the car. Below are two pictures that appeared in a 1994 publication called Lamborghini Supercar Supreme and, on page 19, there is that blue interior. As the car was delivered to me with a grey interior, I wonder when and why the previous owner made the change?

Also, you will notice the original Belgian front plate which I still have.

How's the Monza? I wish it were more visible to us unlucky souls who are not in the UK to see it. You need to bring it to the US sometime for Concorso.

    Hi Alberto

The Monza is great thanks, although I haven't seen much of it myself this year ! It went over to Germany in February for the Lamborghini Design Studies exhibition at the Audi museum in Ingolstadt, then they took it to the Schloss Bensberg Classics in September and it has only recently returned to the UK.

As another British winter approaches the thought of a period in California becomes very appealing !
