I Replaced my Exhaust Manifolds Because...

  1. I wanted a better exhaust note.

  2. I wanted better performance.

  3. I wanted better sound AND performance.

  4. my manifolds failed and Ferrari wouldn't replace them for free.

  5. I'm cruising with genuine Ferrari.

Ferrari replaced my manifolds with MK2's and I couldn't be happier. Love the sound. Not too loud. You?

Installed Capristo headers + Capristo racing exhaust with new mounting bracket to avoid known problems and to have better sound + performance: definitely happy with my choice..

Failed headers, out of warranty. Not about to spend $7k a side for stock 360 headers that are still defective.

I replaced them for safety and longevity of parts in the engine compartment.

Red hot exhaust parts and a minor oil leak (power steering, engine, transmission, diff) could cause a fire. These hot exhaust parts burn the other parts surrounding them, such as hoses, carbon fiber panels, gaskets, wires, etc.

Any performance gains and improvement on sound quality is a bonus (and I gained on both of these with my Capristo headers).

What year is your car and when did they fail? Isn't the exhaust system warranty required to be longer than the whole-car warranty in the US? (I don't recall, but I thougth closer to 10 years)

*I think* the pre-2008 cars are the only ones thus far affected. Over time, we'll see how the later ones are holding up.

It is a 2003, failed at 37k miles. The warranty is 8 years or 80k miles. The car would be covered, however it was first registered in October of 2002 so it is a year past the warranty :(
