Second time you have been a pessimist on this topic (different thread). I guess that chicken wire couldn't cage you up, could it?
I have gotten a decent share of questions regarding the "edge" of the mesh and it's possible marking of the paint. Please do not worry, the finished product includes the edges protected by a finish moulding that protects the cars finish and the installers hands. There is no possible way for the grille to scratch the finish while installing. It also adds a completely intergrated factory look once installed. I have attached a pic of the finished edge on a pre-powder coated piece for reference. I hope this answers some of the questions. Thank you. George Dont forget that the Grille Mesh is now available and on special at www.ricambiamerica.com (part#: 348-MESH-1) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 'group buy' (or whatever we call it) will be submitted to George late next week. So, expect shipments in about 14 days. I let George edit/adjust that timetable as he sees fit.
In this forsaken country we do not drive until April or May which will give you time enough to ship the grille and me time enough to unscrew the two screws and eventually even put them back again with the grille in its place. //B//
jhfields, I am sorry, this will not fit the Spyder. We are hopefully going to have a version for the Spyder and 355 soon. Thanks. George
A little side note for 348/355 owners, and for that fact every F car(i.e. 5 series cars that have a similar grille). How many have tried to clean all the debri and insect splatters on the blacked out areas behind the grille? The newly formulated dry film lubricants that can be directly applied to painted finishes may in fact prevent any kind of crap build up in this hard to reach and often neglected area. While you have the grille off you might want to consider this little trick.....it dries almost flat black.
Just ordered mine. Thanks for keeping SILVER powder coat an option. Hope you will carry that through to the rear grill as well.
Ordered! I make parts for my own business and I have to say that the price is very reasonable for this product. With fab and powder coating costs plus labor to pack and ship, I have to say I was surprised at the low price. Nice work! Thanks, Todd
Thanks Todd for the compliments. My goal from the beginning was to offer this at a price point that everyone could afford and not just sell it at Ferrari prices because it is a Ferrari specific part. We all know we need to keep that cash on hand for the expensive stuff we cannot avoid. With the awesome help from Ricambi, I am happy to say the goal was met. There are several other similiar projects on the plate for the 348/355 and hopefully they will be available in the not to distant future at similiar pricing. You guys are what make it all worth while. Thanks again and please thank Daniel at Ricambi. Stand up people like Daniel and businesses like Ricambi are not too common these days. George
I see that you said you have these grilles listed for sale. I would like one but can't find it in the "for sale" section. Please provide ordering info. Mike
They are for sale and on special right now at www.ricambiamerica.com. The part number is 348-MESH-1. Please check the pictures and make sure you have the same grille as the one pictured because the mesh will not work on the 348 Spider style grille. Thank you. George
