First, please actually purchase a Ferrari, and then come back and post some more to increase your post count, but post something actually helpful to the community, instead of spending all day posting 100 + posts after every Formula One Race.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous, again, if you don't like Fabspeed, you have choices. If you don't like their made in the U.S.A. sticker in the boxes, or have another reason, buy something else.

    Yes.

If I was Fabspeed, I'd stay the hell away from this thread.

I'm not sure admitting anything after they've already taken the damage is even in their best interest. I really don't know, and I would asume those that may are advising them. They have A LOT of satisfied customers on the street, and I'll plainly admit if my install had gone correctly and I'd gotten their full solution up front, I'd probably be defending them. Their best move may be not to fan the flames by saying anything at all, just wait for the thread to burn out and be more careful about the claims they make in the future. But I'm perfectly willing to stick around and vent as long as others keep trying to make this about anything other than their truth in advertising.

Fabspeed is probably on the phone with their attorneys.

If Fabspeed's products are made in Tawian and they advertised "made in USA" and print it on their packaging, this is unethical and against the law. I have heard business being shut down and hefty fined for this.

In defense of Dr Ferrari(Jim) ...he is a good guy and fair . no 1 can really afford to lose business , he has his opinion and it is valid .

not many people have complained about the product so that indicates the overall quality is acceptable . the dispute lies in where it is stated it is made. made in america denotes it is of higher quality .

for sometime discrepancies have been floating around about their products so now it has come to light so we have the option of not buying there any longer trying to negotiate a lower price

Very good observation/thought...I think you may be right on.

Even better comment. I completely agree. I can't believe anyone thinks its about anything else. And, frankly, I wouldn't care much about it if it wasn't that they used our forum/community to sell/market directly to us as some sort of "sponsor/community member" with friendly threads that contained untruths. That (and soley that) is what has got me so steamed.

For me I have never cared about the "made in america" and I have never thought that it denotes it is of higher quality.

2002 Lotus Esprit 25th Anniversary Edition
    2007 Mercedes CLK63 Cabriolet

I don't have any pics of my 1994 RX-7 R2 modified on any of my computers, but if you would like I can get you a shot of that car too?

mattyrae, korr - dial it down.

mattyrae - you seem to be under the mistaken impression that owning a car somehow confers knowledge and expertise. Knowledge and expertise are independent of ownership. The only reason new users are asked for pics is to filter out fakes, trolls and posers; long time users generally don't fall in that category.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Fabspeed right now. I've read every single post on this topic. I find it surprising that there are still some here not upset about this.

It's not that you don't have a quality product. That's neither here nor there. But it's also not fair to say that since it is a good product, that the ends justify the means in regards to what they have seemingly done.

There seem to be two general ways to go with the aftermarket exhaust from what I gather: 1) Capristo=$$$$$ or 2) Fabspeed=$$$ ... well I gues there's a 3) Off brand = $

Now just if Fabspeed is no more greater than the the off brand, but is charging more... than that alone is not the big deal. They're entitled to charge what they want. But if they're getting more dollars by claiming something that it's not, something that would imply greater quality or value, when it's simply not true... that's just fraud in my mind.

Why do you always pic on me? Did you read the smoking comment from Korr? As for the pics, I assume you are going to quote Piper also then?

Yes ownership for the most part does convey more knowledge and expertise because you have experiences with maintenance issues that have occured over the period of ownership.
You also develop contacts and friendships with other owners and get to learn about their experiences. You decide to join Fchat.com and get to learn even more from 100's of owners, to help in both a pre-purchase decision, and tech issues after purchase.

You apparently failed to see korr's name at the start of my comment. I wrote to both of you.

This has been discussed in the past and the answer is no in at least a couple of ways: 1) there are users who don't own Ferraris that have serviced or come into contact with more Ferraris than any single owner could ever see, and 2) there are users who have previously owned Ferraris and moved on. In addition owning a car may confer the specific experience on that owner, but there are some owners that take what could be very limited experience and generalize or presume too much. Consequently ownership does not equal knowledge.

Well whoever has been legit in disclosing exactly where their exhausts are being made will now be able to use that as a marketing edge. The truth prevails. Maybe they're all scallywags?

Ugh...I meant in your profile. You called someone else out for it, and you don't either. Seemed hypocritical.

A past owner would certainly qualify, even though he has "moved on." A person who works in the service industry would certainly qualify, I think that is a given. A person that does not own a Ferrari, never has owned a Ferrari, does not work at a company that services or sells Ferrari would not.

What kind of a car is a Trabant? Seems like someone is playing a little joke with their profile. Very witty though.

Might want to check again, I checked, and it says I own a 2001 360 Spider. Check his profile and you will see why I called him out. 9000+ posts, but hasn't had the time to update his profile with the Ferrari model he owns? He certainly had enough time to list the other "fake" cars he owns.

Do I have photos of my cars in my profile, no, can only do that with a subscription, but I supply what I have when requested, and I would say I do it rather promptly.

This is my understanding as well. The contradictory statements by Fabspeed are eye opening. They are certainly using "Made in USA" as a selling point, when in fact they are NOT made in the USA. I would like to know which products are made in their 200k square foot facility.

Very nicely put. This is just a very emotional thread, and I didn't get very much sleep last night, had a dream that somebody replaced my Tubi exhaust with the stock 360 muffler.

LOL, this thread actually has me worried, next time I have my car on the lift I will certainly be checking for the "Made In Italy" sticker, if I don't see it, I may have to start a new thread. :)
