I think you'd be surprised. I rate Rosberg very highly and would love to see him in a F-car. Plus, we would get to see how he stacks up against Alonso and thus would see how fast MS really is right now.

    Same here.

I just hope MB will get a good replacement and doesn't settle for Massa. *IF* MS retires after 2012 then they need a successor.

I remember most people on here were advising me he would be outclassed by Schu. Didn't happen. He's fast and he speaks Italiano. I'm thinking he may be able to bring some of the right people with him from MB if he goes and Ferrari could use the additional talent.

I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't happen. ;)

My thoughts exactly. IF Michael does not retire until 2013 and the MB is looking better, I could see Vettel holding the MB torch in 2014. Vettel would like nothing more than to be handed the baton by his hero.

Isobel: I believe it can be argued that Michael and Nico this season were definitely at a draw in terms of performance. Michael has really come out and shown his raceform color this latter part of the season.

Pfft, you're dreaming Senor Piloto. If we go back, this year's car was supposedly tailored for Mike's preferences (unlike last season, when this was the primary reason given for being destroyed by Nico if you recall).

Two races to go with a car designed around his preferences and Shoe is behind Nico yet again in points and also crushed in qualifying throughout the season.

Draw? The only drawing should be of a white flag.....;)

The point is to not bother FA. He is not being bothered now it seems. Nico has how many wins? He's proved little. Id rather see Heiki. No question about his capability or ability to fit in. Nico should work on something better. #2 at Ferrari is a no win situation.

A bit delusional, but that's ok we like you anyway :) Anyone who believes Nico and Michael's driving styles are that different need their head examined. Both require a very sharp end. And it wasn't that car last year that got Michael, it was the tires. Michael's performance on wet and dry race pace is more than enough to prove his pace dominance over Nico. Nico is a good qualifier but vanilla otherwise. Any other teammates catching up to the other like Michael does? Nope.

Heikki as in Kovalainen? You're kidding right, the guy was a joke at McLaren. He finised 7th in 08 with the car Lewis won with, and 12th in '10 when Lewis was 5th.

Andreas is bang on. Nico sits perfectly on the fine line between having enough talent to bag the WCC and not bothering Alonso. He hasn't won yet because he's only driven Williams' and craptacular MB's. The guy is also super low key which should work well in a team with Alonso.

If I were making the decisions at Ferrari - I would go after Button and Schumacher with DiResta to follow Michael.

I think Alonso is on the down slope, Hamilton - average at best... Vettle un approachable... so that leave the only other ones out there.... Button & Schumi.

Button just signed a long-term contract to finish out his career at McLaren.

How is Alonso on the down slope? I don't like the guy but he's as good as he's ever been.

MS is a good #2, not necessarily for Alonso though. :D

Yeah Alonso is really at his zenith. Massa is a decent driver but Alonso really takes that car to a whole other level. I believe the same level of gap in talent exists between Webber and Vettel. Don't ever underestimate Schumacher. I can't say this enough, because he and Alonso and Vettel are and only drivers capable on the field consistently hunting down and passing their teammates purely on race pace. And Nico is absolutely better than Massa and Webber which makes Schu's feat even more impressive

Im hardly dreaming. He wont bother Alonso and Nico has how many wins? Has accomplished what? He's the son of a WDC winner. Ferrari is not going to be his catapult to a title with it being Scuderia Alonso. Where are the predictions of Nico as a Vettel type star. He's not much better than most drivers. Average or above slightly id say.

He offers nothing more than Felipe or Kova. Nothing. He has zero record to stand on and is in fact not notable even in the 2 teams he is in, given the praise of Schumi around here and now he is Ferrari worthy? Dreams are for all of us just not me. Its an opinion as valid as yours by the way. Kova is likeable, great with the press, has big team experience and can be a good team mate. #2 at Ferrari is not about winning but its about the TEAM overall. That my dreaming friend is reality.

    :p :)

At least he's getting a little closer! ;)

*If* he were constantly catching up & passing his teammate I reckon the point table would tell a different tale. OK, he's had some bad luck and been crashed out a few times (Phil, anyone?) but the bottom line is points.

I beg to differ. Phil is consistently within 10ths if not 100ths of the generally accepted "best driver on the grid" - We're constantly hearing how he gets the most from an average car, nobody else could come close, blah, blah. Nico, Mark and numerous others would be at best about the same and at worst a step backwards - Unless you believe any of them are better than Fred.... "The devil you know"....

    Forza Felipe!
    Cheers,
    Ian

Alonso is on the down slope but you would go after MS?

    I disagree.

There are several folks on here who have a very good understanding of F1 and even have good and close sources.

This forum has a much better grip than pretty much any forum/web page I've ever seen anywhere. Let alone any sportsbar or F1 gathering.

Whom do you consider an expert?
