It was standard. Leather was an option. I think "most" owners opted for the optional leather and many replaced the plaid with leather when the interiors were redone. So plaid is now pretty rare I think. Someone here might know what % of cars left the factory with the standard plaid. There are some wild plaid interiors. Besides the tan and red I have seen lime green and bright orange - groovy baby.
Thanks for the plaid photos! A pretty girl in Burberry trench and scarf is all that is missing I can't remember ever seeing plaid with my own eyes in a C4 so I am sure that yes it gets replaced with leather routinely during restorations, pity. MS

While we are on the subject of colors my C/4, 14953, was repainted a color that closely resembles Amaranto by an owner in Texas. Maybe Marcel can confirm for me that the car was originally Verde Medio Nijinski? Thank you. Sam
