Leroy the brakes are all yours! Funnily enough you weren't the first Fchat brudder to put up your hand, but after discussion it was agreed that as you're presently getting around with bottle tops for brakes that you deserved them more . I just hope they fit!! No worries about payment .. I'm just happy to know that they're being put to use, or that they're someone elses problem to dispose of
The Countach was the pace car for the Monaco GP in the early '80's .. a couple more pics (lifting a wheel) and a pigeon pair. More pics here http://www.countach.ch/History/PaceCar/index.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great read on a lazy Friday morning mate, good stuff!! HAHAHAHAAH, best reply ever! Good luck! Or if anything drops, for that matter. Whoah!! LOL!
*superexcitedpoststart* On another note, 2 Eurofighter Typhoons flew 1000ft over me yesterday, doing a familiarisation flight over Langkawi in preparation for LIMA. BLOODY HELL I ALMOST DIED OF AWE!!!! Phuckin beautiful birds guys, omg.. Both were from the British RAF by the way..sweet stuff *superexcitedpostover*
Cool. Were you in the air, & if so what were you flying? I've never seen them live but I bet they leave one hell of a blast behind them.
Was in the air at the time, and was flying my Diamond DA-40 at 2500ft in the circuit. They just did a missed approach and climbed right over me with a 1000f spacing, and it literally was the coolest thing EVER!! I've had the Malaysian Airforce MiG 29N & F/A-18D over me before, but they were nowhere near as cool/loud/jaw dropping. Gosh, this year's LIMA is gonna be a blast!!
Thanks Derek for the brakes. Really appreciate it and for those who were willing to let me have it. As Derek did put it correctly, I have been running on bottlecaps for rotors and paper clips for calipers. Its interesting that me and Derek were talking about cars that were from that era did have such small brakes and its a scary thought that these cars were running at high speeds with such puny brakes to stop them. The brakes are with the workshop now to get them fitted onto the car. Did the Testas and Countachs have such small brakes too?
Mate, the warbirds still turn me on big time as compared to the commercial birds. Mid this year, I was standing at the apron on a military base with a pair of low flying F-15s and F-16s lighting up their afterburners before they pulled vertical. Courtesy of the RSAF!
Must have been epic! Somehow, I hear that F15s are louder than F16s. Is that true, Tuck? I also remember seeing F111 & some other big warbirds in PLAB when I was at the "viewing room"
Damn! wonder how it is like to race Countachs. People always say they were tricky to drive and terrible sitting positions but look @ these!
u have to watch it although its not a ferrari, but amazing [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDct0pAqdow&feature=feedf[/ame]
There is an advert on sgmart for a F575. Price is like a yoyo.Asking 308k today and was i think 368 couple of days ago. it looks like the same dealer who was trying to sell a 458. Very strange dealer.
http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=215187&DL=1358 Is it this one? I think this car has been on sale for a pretty long time now.
Was 318 then 338? Oh whatever. It will not sell to regular Ferrari buyers. 1) Only 2yrs plus left to drive. 2) You can get a very short term loan of 2yrs so making cash payment will be ideal 3) Since you can afford so much cash, might as well buy a newer model 4) Transfer fee is still high as hell while insurance is not cheap & in fact higher than usual as it ages. Road tax is $7K+ a year making annual depreciation of S$40-50K? It'll probably scrap for a total of S$270K+/- now so not too far off the asking price. Sad, if only we don't have a 10yr-cycle timeline to cars. But for those who wants a taste of modern V12 with F1, this is good start
