Front hood latch, Which type do you have

USA 85 2 latch

 

My 85' euro has one latch.

 

It's early vs. late, bruddah.

All of mine are two latch, and it's a ^*$%$^% if one fails to open!!!!

Later designs said "where's the hood gonna go?" (little uplift stress) and decided "one is enough"

Not sure if they reduced the Safety Pins from two to one, that keep the hood from coming thru the glass and chopping your head off.

How many of those are on the trailing edge of your hood??

 

It may be our DOT standards driving it......the safety pins go down thru those keyholes beside each latch.

I'll bet all the North American cars have two?

 

Look the Euro has no safety slots AT ALL!!

But "it's okay"......

My 1976 North American Version Fiberglass GTB has one latch, like Chairpilot's Euro.

 

OH PLEASE!!!!! The 308's windshield/safety glass is so low sloped the hood will actually sail over and end up through the car behind me!!

It could be a weight saving measure (LOL!!!)

Just noticed that the wiper blades on my car are parallel but in the pictures above they are not. One arm has a bend at the end the other doesn't. I guess the PO must have switched the passenger side arm for a different one with a slight bend making the wiper blades parallel.

Two EURO 1989 328: a GTB and a GTS; both have TWO latches.

My '83 GTS has one latch, on the left side, and some idiot leaned on it .

 

'85 euro, one latch. Definitely a US vs. ROW thing.

 

Paint shops replace them on backwards...I have seen that.

They are not interchangable....
