I vote no, my car never fails to make me smile. As far as the maintenance cost, I look at it this way. " You separate the men from the boys by the price of the toys."

Best choice I have ever made in buying a vehicle. It has typical 355 issues but part of the ownership experience for me is working on the car myself and knowning the platform a way that can only come through wrenching on the car yourself. I will have many other cars in my life but I will alway be a 355 owner going forward. Hopefully my current GTS will be in my garage til the day I die, but if not it would be another.

+308 (err, I guess it should be +348 in this section).

I have had some amazing experiences and met some great people (including Ernie) as a result of buying my car and participating if f-chat events.

A couple of years ago, I participated in an autocross along with several other F-chatters, where I was able to take my 2 older kids as passengers. Even though both were involved in kart racing, they said that the ride in the 308 on the autocross track was way more exciting. It was a fun day, with the whole family participating. At the end of the day, my wife said to me "I'm so glad we have that car".

Yes, it's cost me a lot of money, but the experiences and fun I've had with the car have made it all worthwhile!

P.S.- May I suggest that someone move this thread to general Ferrari discussion instead of the 348 section (or perhaps start a new thread in general discussion). I imagine you will get a whole lot more responses.

Not a chance I could have voted "yes." I had a much much worst experience with an Audi A4 crappy two wheel drive 4 banger. So, these minor issues with F1 pump, the hydraulic actuators, the menopausal spider tops, security systems and fobs, girls flashing you on Fridays while you are driving, valet guys afraid to touch it ---> I would say I have had a great experience with my 355s.

Anyone wants to argue? Come on now, I am waiting :)

My only regret was not buying one sooner.

I was going to buy a Mondial some years ago but didn't as I wasn't sure it would have satisfied me

I'm now very sorry I didn't for I am sure that I would have loved it

I have had a few issues,
it seems every car has its quirks, especially when you first buy it (I own 11 cars, this is my first Ferrari, a 1998 355 F1)

I agree, Ferrari's cost more to maintain, I use mine as my fair weather driver... and I love it, ed :)

I regret selling it, not buying it :(

Now I really know what a great example I had, I have been looking at 360's and so far, mine was in better condition than the newer cars I looked at.
Heck, the owner of one of them said it's PERFECT....
So perfect it wouldn't start, I will stop there.

Still looking for my next Ferrari

I just drove my 348 on some twisty roads 2 days ago. It corners so flat and accelerates on the move so well that I think I'm done with 911's. They just dont do it for me anymore. So no I dont regret buying my Ferrari at all.

Ooooo there's a huge thread on it in the Mondial section, airing all the sorted details, it's gotten ugly so I'd rather not bring the toxins over here, let's just say it's evolved into a complete restoration, and these things take time

Hmmm...no regret buying 'a' ferrari, but perhaps some small regret not buying either the tetra pack family divorce settlement chairs and flairs dino, or the nice 512BBi, both of which were for sale for much the same money at the same dealer at the time I bought the 348 in early 2000. Prices on either of those having gone skyward ever since, unlike the seemingly rediculously underated 348.
