Do you have plans to mount exterior rear-view mirrors on the car?

    One more thing.

You can't turn an original 350 Can AM engine back to an original P4 engine as 350 Can Am engines were bored out. You can change an original P4 engine from 4 to 3 liters and back to 4 liters by changing wrist pin heights and crank journals and as per Wayne Sparling this was done in the day for better fuel effeciency at some races like The Targa Florio and The Nurburgring.

Not that it matters what I think but...

Is it slightly misleading to call this car a P4 and have every picture of it be an old pic of a P4 when it is not a P4 at the moment? I understand that a P4 spyder body is being made, but still... seems wrong. They could at least have a pic of the car in Can Am trim as it sits.

Again, just my opinion and since Im not in the market I guess it doesnt matter.

Trying to be as true as we can to the original P4 body there are no plans to place "exterior mirrors" on the car. Now, if this is stopping you from placing your order for a 2012 P4 by Norwood please let me know, I'm sure we could work something out.

Did the real race cars that ran at Le mans and Daytona have rear view mirrors?

Jim, was 0856 ever configured with mirrors? I've seen photo's of coupes with mirrors, was this strictly driver preference or factory option?

Requirement of Scrutineers at different races. 0856 was a coupe for most of it's life and P4 Coupes had them at some races.

It wouldn't be safe or legal to drive one on the street without mirrors. (At least a left side one and I wouldn't drive one without one on both sides).

That said it was more strictly enforced by some than others. Note Chaparral doesn't seem to have them.

(That was at Brands Hatch where 0856 ran as a Spyder)

They all had interior rear view mirrors.

This video is a good example of what the P4 sounds like as it's slowly driving by.

Wonderful! Can you imagine being in the corolla and you see that in the oncoming lane? People must think its a low flying UFO or something! If I saw it on the road I might have a wreck.

I've always wanted one of these, but at that cost, I'd have to sell the plane. Wife would love it, but I'm not sure that is a good idea. Need to think about this for a while.

GREAT PICS! The car looks fantastic.
For those who don't know, in the background of the first pic, that is Bob Norwood.

Why is a replica in a Concours d' Elegance show ... or is a traditional one where you vote on the most beautiful not how genuine and well preserved or restored the car is?

As I'm sure you already know not all cars have available 'production' parts so said parts must be replicated to the highest degree of originality so they can score the highest point's in their prospective category. On that note originality of the car does not mean it will win it's category or best in show, too many variables exist with each show simply because there are different judges for each event.

I would probably wreck my car if this drove past me:
