Man, that's crazy. Drop a bit too low (or hit something in the water) and you nose over into the drink. What's the old saying? There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bolt pilots?

And to prove the Argentines don't always get it right, watch what happens to the T-34 on the left side of the formation right after the flyover:

Looks like the plane on the left hit his wing on the building tower and crashed.
    I hope the guy lived.

Since they were flying in formation, it is the responsibility of the center lead pilot to make sure there is enough wing clearance on the left side for the entire formation, true?

I'd feel terrible if I led a fellow pilot into a collision with a tower.

The in-cockpit view highlights the flying skill involved more.
As fast as that jet was going, he had to go over that tree line and get down near the ground a lot quicker than I would have thought to make that pass.
Amazing he could get that close to the ground in that short of a time frame.

I hope he meant to get that low and it wasn't a control mistake on his part.

This pass is very similar to that made by the Japanese pilots who torpedoed the Arizona. They had an obstacle that they had to clear on the mainland side, then quickly drop down to near water level, stabilize, drop their torpedo, and then make a climbing turn to clear the masts. They only had about 400 yards to make their run.

we used to sit on the over-pass hill side at NAS Glenview north of chicago ,during the air and water show week,a local navy pilot that just got into the blue angles was home to see his family, took off north-bound in an F-18 Hornet and people were blown over by the jet wash,,great times back then 20 years ago

It's because everything about them screams Big Daddy.

Just listen to the Strike Eagles at the end of this clip. Just spooling up those turbines off of idle sounds scary!

This video has everything you want from a low pass.

    Ear splitting noise?

    Check.

    Flames from the afterburners?

    Check.

    Supersonic bomber at low altitude?

    Check.

People turned into cackling idiots by what just went over their heads

    Check.
