I would like to find out how well the Trofeo 325/30R19 would fit given the BBS FI offsets (it would fit the 11.25" width). It's 682mm diameter = stock. I've seen a few online pictures of the BBS FI, and it looks like a pretty aggressive offset that might not fit that much more tire without rubbing. Don't have the stock offsets handy.

Rad (F430GT) is a master of shoe-horning the biggest tire/wheel combos I've ever heard of on any of his cars, so maybe he can chime in on if that rear offset is too aggressive to comfortably fit a 325/30.

The rear wheel is too aggressive, the 305 is as wide as you can go.

Not available in a 20 inch. If you want 20 inch you could do a similar wheel, I have the Radenergie F02 on my 360, or cor F1 Bravo's

    http://www.corwheels.com/f1-encor/

These would look cool in 20 inch with ferrari center caps. Obviously not as light as bbs.

You're right. The rake is altered and the car needs to be set up correctly to run these tyres.
I had intended to corner weight it and set it up when I finished the rest of the project.

    Thanks for that Rob,

I am currently considering changing my wheels as I am in need of fresh tyres, so this is the right time.
My only problem, is that I can not justify to my self the price of the BBS ( even as light as they are) and maintaining a 19 inch wheel.
If they were in 20 inch, definitely yes!

The F1 encor look interesting, any idea of their weight and price in say 20 x 8.5 front and 20 x 10.5 at rear?
I don't want to go too crazy with extra wide tyres and kill the power of the car, ideally I would be looking at 235/20 30 and 295/30 20.
    Thanks!

For those who are tempted to lower their Scuderia- this is my car after 1100 kms of spirited driving last weekend.............and this on the standard wheels/tyres with standard ride height.

If your most spirited driving is reverse parking outside your favourite cafe, then lower away!
If you actually drive your cars hard on real roads, think twice before you do it.

Good and informative post! Obviously the extent of damage is somewhat related to the quality of the roads you travel but, for sure, it seems your car is too low for your use!

Question if I may? I note a threaded bar in the third photograph. What is that?

Edit:- Ahh... my bad, it's the drain hose!

I'm sure it did but did this car have clear bra.

Also back to the BBS FI wheels we just got more titanium x2, gloss black x2 and matte black x1 sets in.

There aint no clear bra in the world that's gonna deal with those issues! :D

..... but, as you say, back to the wheels...... (they are nice!)

There was a 458 and a Lambo Superleggera on the same drive and they had no problems at all.

You can see some of the clear bra hanging off in the last photo. The car is covered in it and it's great...........for stone chips. Won't do a thing for impact damage like this.

Hi Scott, Ugly mate ugly!!!!. Was reading quite a bit about skid plates and it seems the jury is out. If whatever u hit catches the skid plate the damage could be far worse. Have you thought about just using "cloth duck tape" and taping up the area before a hard ride. That way you will probably rip the duck tape off and limit damage. All you then have to do is carry a role in the car and re-apply?

Unfortunately no duct tape could stand up to the forces involved. I understand what you mean with the skid plates; but the same thing applies to the bumper itself. I tore the bumpers on my Maserati Granturismo and my M3 CSL. At least with the Scuderia the plates will be going on my light weight carbon fibre bumpers that are being made now. If they get damaged I'll make another set with my moulds :)

Good point on the new bumpers. BTW: which skid plates did you go with or are you getting them done yourself?

360c, do you have the stock front springs for the suspension. I know in many other countries where you can get away with more spirited driving alot of our customers have switched to a stiffer spring rate in the front to help with the nose.

The suspension is completely standard. I hadn't planned on spring and shock changes etc as the Scud is 99% road car for me. I use my 360 Michelotto for the track, so not much point giving the Scud a track bias that will make it unpleasant on the road. Having said that, I may be forced to look into changes if the bottoming out issue happens constantly.

After a long delay since our last sets of BBS FI wheels we will have two more sets available the end of this month. I have had these on order for 4 months. If anyone has been on the fence with these let me know.

2 sets of the FI Titanium are inbound eta 10/1.
