That's awesome. I saw a white one at F of Ft Laud this morning.
No. They are illegal to drive on the street. Many modifications would need to be made to make them street legal.
Awesome car. FYI - A good friend of mine, Raul Costa, recently test-drove a 458 Challenge on the track in Florida. Video can be seen if you search "Raul Costa 458 video".
Great stuff! Raul's car is one of the coolest cars on earth. His is actually a 458 GT3, which is giant step badder than a 458 Challenge! Mark
Perhaps some the owners here can clear something up for me? What comes with the 458CH? I have been told a full set of wheels and tires, air jack wand, stand alone diag. Computer? I have heard all sorts of stories.
Just the car on treaded tires. No wand, no diag, no spares, unless you ordered the season race package that came with a set of brake rotors and pads. Mark
Only option when ordering is the exterior color and size of passenger seat. As Mark mentioned, arrives on set of Pirelli Rains. There are quite a few other items needed to effectively use the car..... fuel jugs, air wand if you want to use the air jacks, massive torque wrench, high capacity impact, knock off adapter, nitrogen, regulator, window nets, radios, cameras, coolsuit systems, slicks, and a good relationship with a parts supplier.... It really is best to have support of a dealer with such a new car....only a dealer will be able to get the vast majority of what you need to safely enjoy the car.
I had purchased two different 360 Challenge cars from a Dealer in Germany and received several spares and technical manuals including data acquisition software. It was a very nice package. The manifest that came with our car lists an extra set of wheels and tires? It is hard to believe a technical manual is not supplied. At a basic list of lubricants and suspension settings.
I'm sure we could help you out, seeing as how we are neighbors and all If you decide on a car or need help acquiring one, I'll be glad to give you suspension and lubricant suggestions. The technical manual is a bit harder to promise ou, as it is actually a thumb drive, and they are quite hard to come by! Cordiali Saluti
Beautiful car enjoy it always. Love the fact that you slapped a plate on it and enjoyed it like on us roads and took it to a car show! great stuff dude! Reminds me of driving a Porsche factory Cup car on the street on slicks a couple of times in Pennsylvannia ! Just bring copies of your insurance and owners card invade you getstopped. In the old days of big time Porsche racing Holbert Racing occasionally took the 962 and other racer cars out onto the public roads for impromptu shakedowns! Enjoy and happy new year Joe
As nobody seems to have explained this sufficiently at the time: It'll be so that should the car shut itself down for any reason (engine cut out, crash or whatever), it will be automatically out of gear and so can be rolled out of the way immediately.
WHEELS LOOK AWESOME! Congrats man best 458 I've ever seen. Nice Diablo as well, you should hit the town tonight... you would get some lol.
