I really like both of these Will likely test drive both next year Whats your fave ? WHich is most likely to appreciate ? I'd guess the GT cus more people know it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
While the Mosler is an awesome car, I'd have to say GT. It's a gorgeous design, and i think it's aging well. And a little less of the race car feeling. Unless you want another racer. One of the members here has both, maybe he will chime in.
GT, way too iconic to pass up and simply stunning in person. I've never seen a Mosler so I can't really judge its appearance but in the pics it is no where near the level of the GT. No need to discuss performance figures b/c at this level we're splitting hairs. That said, if I had unlimited resources I'd certainly have no problem adding a Mosler to the stable. You might want to add a poll to the thread.
what do you want to do with it? The Mosler weighs less, and is definitely ideal for track use, and has the race cred. However, street capabilities of the MT900 really doesn't compare to the Ford. The MT900 won't hold it's value either. Look for a used one? But you already knew that
Ah, great question. I assumed street use with the occasional track day but now I recall that Wm H has a track only steed or two. Still, I'd go with the GT...nothing better than the Ford that beat Ferrari...hurts to say that!
difficult one. I actually really like the GT, but the Mossler 900s must be insane to drive. Just under a 1000KG and 600hp. Photon version another 100KG lighter. If you can find/get one... Difficult choice. For sheer excitement I think a 900s would win. Brain says GT, Especially wallet. * The mossler has proved itself in various European race series!
I like the Mosler personally but I have always been a fan of lighter, more stripped down cars. If I was looking for a GT40-ish car thought, I would definitely go with Superformance GT40; they really are quite awesome. I realize that's not one of the options, but I thought I would just throw it out there. Mark
I think I'll mostly use this 1 for the road so maybe I;ll go w the GT + I hate losing $ Going w FORD GT cus again I hate losing $
I own both a 2005 Ford Gt I bought new and a 600 hp Mosler I also bought new. The Mosler is faster but the Ford GT while fast, is to a lesser degree, is a better car to drive every day. Both cars have been good to me. Appearance is great with both but some people know a Ford Gt. Very few have ever seen a Mosler. Both are great cars. I would suspect the GT would grow in value more than the Mosler since they are not making any more of them. The Ford Gt still drives well compared to other super cars tho not as powerful. I have kept mine the stock 500 hp. My friend bosted the super charging from 15 psi to 24. The dealer can sell you the pulleys to make the change. The power on his car was 874 hp. I drove it and it was a big difference. He also changed the shift linkage to a short throw and the exhaust note to be grumpier. Jay Leno changed his to 600 hp. my Mosler is the 600 hp model. The factory also makes a 800 hp model. I can only imagine Good luck what ever you do. Lee
IMHO the FORD GT will continue to increase in value and its looks and interior although subjective are better than the MOSLER. The Mosler might be a better track car, but the FORD GT is a better street car.
Ford GT looks boring in person when compare to a Mosler. The Mosler is a SUPERB car. A true Supercar.
I am in my 5th year of GT ownership, and I wish I had the funds to buy another. I believe they will continue to appreciate, as the supply of cars not wrecked or sent out of the country continues to fall. Other than the fuel neck problem, which was repaired under warranty, I have never had one service issue with the car. It is an easy car to drive around town, but when you push the go pedal be ready for a rush. It is one of the few cars I have been in that truly gives you that tunnel-vision sensation at the top of 2nd and 3rd gears. I have not done the pulley upgrade, but just tweaking the air/fuel mix on a dyno, they were able to get mine up to 573rwh and 523lbs torque. I agree the exhaust needs more rumble, and I plan on putting the Ford Borla muffler on at some point. The car is rock solid stable at 150, and getting there is some amazing fun. To me, the body captures all the great curves of the original, and it takes me back to my slot car days in the late 60's when I was racing a Cox GT40. I still think it is one of the best looking road cars ever built. fordgtforum is a great source of advice on the cars Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
PHILLIP, I could not agree more with your statement. I have been on that forum but to be honest I never could get into it, I will try again. Thank you. FYI the ferrari dealer told me " never get rid of that FGT" I understand and agree on the exhust sound but I plan to keep my car stock. Enjoy your car in good health! Lee
I have had a GT for 4-5 yrs. They are fabulous cars. I think I will own mine forever! The fordgtforum site is top notch too.
If my head didnt hit the headliner when i sat in one i would have bought one! it certainly would have held its value better then my lamborghini
Just add a Gurney Hump: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/vexCPFSqIR7awavQIbvIew IIRC Dan's wife had one added to a GT that she gave him as gift.
next question: black, white, or blue ? I'm partial to white since white w blue are great American colors but so is blue Black always looks great but I already have a bunch of black cars
