    To the above there responses, I am sure the judge will be congratulating me on improving the property value in that area as he hands me my fine!

    The officer said he pulled us over for exceeding the speed limit and was concerned that we would approach old folks on tractors or an errant Cow too quickly. Please look at the road officer--I can see a mile and a half ahead and we were not going THAT fast!

    Sorry about the performance award Don. So the Toy Run is on the 10th ? Any more details would be helpful.

    I've got some BMWs (M6, Dinan E92 335) and SAABs (Viggen, Turbo4) ready to roll with us.

    To all interested parties;
    The start location for the 7th annual DFW Toy Run will be RAC Performance Centre. The address is 3219 Commander Dallas, 75006. For those of you who are not familiar with this location, Commander is just about 1/2 way between Keller Springs and Trinity Mills on the West side of Midway. There will be a light breakfast (Danish) and Coffee.
    My sincerest thanks to Hans, Jacky, Wayne, Carl, Jonathan and all of the staff at RAC for helping with this years Toy Run. the last time we started here Hans was the official launcher and he was great so I hope wew can draft him once again.
    Due to the number of cars and how we have to leave we will be launching in flights of 10 to 15 cars. So if you want to go with some friends please arrange yourselves that way when you drive up to the launch area.
    I will have a mileage count by this weekend on the length of the run, but I would anticipate 80 to 85 miles and about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. I also hope to have an idea if there are any special requests for toys and if so I will post that this weekend also.

    There is obviously some confusion about this years toy run. Am I missing something? I received the email below from Boardwalk Ferrari yesterday. Please say it isn't so!

    When: Saturday, December 10, 2011, 9:00 am

    Where: Rally begins at Boardwalk Ferrari Maserati

    The festivities begin at 9:00 AM for breakfast then we will gather all of the toys for a holiday parade to Lamborghini Dallas where we will be joined by Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center for the toy hand off.

    Apparently our Toy Run has become their toy run? I am sad there is no acknowledgement that all of the previous 6 Toy Runs have been organized, financed and supported through the hard work of the Ferrarichat family and headed by Don and Carolyn. Boardwalk has been an invited guest just like the rest of us.

    There is all kinds of confusion on the various car club boards due to the Boardwalk email now. Folks aren't sure where the starting point is, if there are two different toy runs, etc.

    Looks to me like Boardwalk is doing their own Toy Run.

    Nice choice of date, but I guess it's all for a good cause.

    SAAB and BMW guys also were originally told it was to be at Boardwalk on 12/03, but I posted the correction, and sent emails that it's at RAC on 12/10. Is Boardwalk hijacking the Toy Run ?

    They did it to the FCA DFW Car Show, why wouldn't they try it with the FCA DFW Toy Run? Great move on Don’s part not to take it and move to RAC. When they pulled it on me and the car show I explored other options and ultimately decided it was someone elses turn to run it anyway.

    That said I really don’t think Boardwalk is that calculating or that big of *******s, I just think their organization and communication is lacking within each dealership, between the dealerships, and with the clubs they have partnered with in the past. Bull in a china store “oops, did we break something”.

    This event always has been and will be Don’s event as part of the FCA DFW, not Boardwalk. They can do their own, great cause, but same date and time we should support Don’s 7th, not Boardwalks 1st.

    Well, you know it's become a cluster of confusion when insiders at Boardwalk are throwing their hands up saying 'what's going on'? Even their own employees know they haven't sponsored the last 6 toy runs.

    Bob Dezzany and I will be joining you for the run this year in my Mercedes. Not sure how many others from ICCS will join, but we'll carry the club banner! I know the RAC location well and was with you when we started there a few years back. What TIME will the launch flights start that morning?

    Yay !! That's the one of the very few mornings of the year when I hope I do not have an appointment to show a house :)

    I'm trying to avoid scheduling showings for that morning, but if duty calls then I will have to miss out.

    I have emailed with Nathan and talked on phone with Shad. They have delivered toys to Collin County Children's Advocacy Center since 2000/2001. For a few past years they have partnered with Don. Not sure which charities Don has used over the years. I asked why Boardwalk called their toy rally the "7th Annual" and answer was this was 7th time they have opened it up to clients. I guess just a huge coincidence Don's is the 7th annual too when Boardwalk has done it for 10 years.

    It is unfortunate that this situation has developed but it has. For all of you that have been on all of the Toy Runs starting in 2005 (and there are several) you will remember we have always had the support and participation of the Boardwalk Auto Groups. For the last three years I worked very closely with Jordan Bars the special events coordinator for Boardwalk and always received the best of cooperation from her. This culminating in last years hosting of the Toy Run from Boardwalk Ferrari/Maserati with a tremendous breakfast for 200, assistance from Boardwalk people in organizing the cars and launching them and providing us with a fabulous place to begin our run. I am truly saddened that they will not be a part of our run this year.

    I don't want to discuss this any more in this section. If you want to hear "the other side' of the story please e-mail me or call and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

    RAC sent out a flier that is posted in an earlier part of this thread. I suspect with the number of cars we are anticipating it would probably be better if everyone started showing up about 8:00 or 8:30. That way we can start to get cars organized in groups to launch.
    NOTE: we will be on tollroads for a while so make sure you have your tolltag handy.

    Remember this is the ONE, the ONLY, the ORIGINAL Toy Run in it's 7th rendition. We have a run across north central Texas. You will get to see some scenery, your will get to exercise your car, you will encounter some challenging turns and you will be responsible for making some boy or girl very happy on Christmas. Plus you get to see some very cool cars and meet some great people!

    The planning continues to make this the biggest and the best run we have had to date!
