Well, to be fair, it's closer to 2,700 people than 27,000, and probalby a lot less than that. 27,000 is the number of views of this thread, of which probably close to 100 are from me alone ;).

Non-owner vs owner status is irrelevant. Non-owners try to talk down values and owners try to talk up values, but what is really relevant is realistic potential buyers and actual sellers, and where those two meet. That makes the market. Even for something as relatively rare as a Scuderia, someone blathering on Fchat about why something is valued or priced one way or another is quite insignificant to the "market price" in my mind.

I found it very useful. I don't care what the original title was. There is a lot of good info in this thread and in the "CS Market" thread. Originally, I was torn between the two. There was a bit much "banter" to wade through, though.

Life is short. Everybody's situation is different and everything in life is a trade-off or sacrifice somewhere.

Well even if it wasn't intended, it has turned into a very good buyer's guide for the Scuderia.
Why people feel the need to look down on other's trying to save money blows my mind. Just be happy you feel you are financially solid / stable enough to buy new, and it doesn't bother you losing 100 - 150k every time you trade up. A guy in my town is the joke of our area because he buys high, and then losses big time in a short time frame.

Dont even start. 45% top tax rate cuts in very low, 10% GST, medicare, flood tax and now BS Carbon Tax. All adds up to being "bent over" to the tune of 60%+ in tax before u even pay for the car. Makes you want to vomit!!!.

Anyway - still one of the best countries in the world to live in!!!

Interesting though the Scud prices in the US seem to be exactly half ours. So maybe the figures divided by two are a good indicator.

I will, thanks, and probably longer than 3 months. By making another similar post, you just proved my point. When the 458 Scud comes out, I will enjoy reading your review of the car since you are probably already on the waiting list.

It's all relative really. Priorities certainly matter, but it's still relative to the individual. If you have assets and a stable income of $500k a year, $100-$150k depreciation over 3-5 years in car deprecition is not that big of a deal, especially if you only own one car. If you have had to save for 10 years to be able to afford a Scuderia or 458 or whatever, than IMO the total cost of ownership, including depreciation and opportunity cost of cash, is too high. It just depends.

    +1 BTW, nice avatar!

CS Market thread is crazy long. Good info though if one can get through all the 'banter'.

We will never know, except for maybe Jim G. / Napolis the net worth of any Fchatter, and in addition, even if someone makes 500k or greater than 1 million / year in income, you never know the extent of someone's debt. Maybe they have paid off their house, paid for their kids college education, have little to no debt in their business, and only buy toys with profits made from investments, or they feel the need to buy toys to compete with the Jones' and are highly leveraged. Regardless, trying to fit someone from an online Forum into either category strictly because they have or don't have a Ferrari Scuderia is ridiculous.

Hey mattyrae the jealousy you show in your posts are clearly offensive to many users on this forum. I am new here but you certainly come off as the forums troll (reading many of your past postings you seem to offend many)ain't you suppose to be on the 458 forum bashing a 458 buyer for buying a car with seats you don't approve of? I guess your next dream after owning a scud is a 458 so you starting early on the bashing eh?

Mattyrae we get it loud and clear you resent others that can afford to buy cars you can't. No reason to hate the game brother. On the flip side if no one was willing to buy these cars at higher newer prices how would the little guy like you be able to buy/dream about them until they get down to a price you can afford at the 10 year old range? How could Ferrari stay in business if everyone had your dream or followed your dream? I guess what I am saying instead of hating the guys who don't mind taking a hit be thankful for these people are the ones that make it possible for guys like you down the road to own one.

With that said I will call it now you will never own a Scud you will always be on the sideline regardless of price. You have no intentions of buying one weather 3 months or 3 years or 30 years. Your views on this topic are about as pointless as your dream of buying one for 100k by next year.

Bottom line is almost all F-cars are going down no matter what, if you really are sweating the depreciation on these cars clearly you should not be in the market. Complaining or walking about from a 180k car over 5k is silly, buy what fits your budget. You only live once. The only user that will never lose money on a Ferrari is Mattyrae since the scud will always remain a dream for you, you never have to worry about losing any money on your purchase.

Mattyrae in your own words if the purpose of this thread is to educate buyers shouldn't it go both ways?meaning if guys like you posting useless/false/dreamer pricing on cars is it wrong for us owner to chime in with actual fact to help the REAL buyers who are looking for a scud?

There is nothing wrong with trying to save money, no one wants to pay sucker price.
Trying to buy a car is different than dreaming to buy a car at a fire sale price.

Some people will just dream about buying at a unrealistic price and keeps complaining why people not selling the car to them at that price. I think a lot of them lives in your town.

Oh and how do you know your joke of the town is not laughing at the others?
By the time he gone through 10 cars, the folks in your town probably will still be waiting for a price drop on the first one.

May be I should start a new thread for folks that lives in your town.

It's a state of mind, $500k a year guys spend money like they have it, 7 to 8 figures a year guys are so neurotic about money losing $1 hurts (excluding drug dealers & athletes, no offense), it's why trading up cars, aircraft, yachts and women is fun and always will be, it's about making a better deal and always will be for some.

Whole bunch of ego going on in these posts...
how about we all simply decide to let this thread die.

Lets move away from all of this competitive/ EGO BS and get back to talking about cars.

Why do you want it closed, didn't you review it before buying yours? It's a great market watching thread.

I think that would help. This thread is just so inflaming to owners -- and IMO unjustified in what it implies.

I normally double the US price of Ferraris to gauge a rough Aussie price. :)

I believe when a thread is closed you just cannot post anymore. It doesn't delete it.
