    Very cool stuff!

The weather is getting nice here so I'll be getting back to the models soon. Over the last few days I've managed to fix some paint problems on an Audi R8 I'm doing. So far I've only done the body black with 2 pin stripes, one orange and one yellow. I scratch built a rear wing out of thin metal strip. I want to try to weather this to make it look like it just finished a rainy drive. I plan to mask off the windshield where the wipers would clean. Any tips on what to use for weathering the rest of the body accurately? I'll post some pics when I get home.

A am working on a Alfa 1900 Touring Mille Miglia 1952(Fangio's car) based on the Quattroruote 1/24th scale model. I am also doing decals for it on the SD 1954 Pan Am 1900 sheet.

What car are you going to do for the B20? The weather has been so nice I have hard time working on anything but my real cars. I will be starting all the Ferrari Expo models soon.

Very cool. Pattos Place has alot of interesting decals. Now all we need are models to use them on!! Is that the Airtrax kit you based it on?

I just completed this build, MFH Ferrari 275 GTB/C LM '67 GT class winner. Built OOB.

Also couple of pics of my current builds, MFH Ferrari 250GT SWB LM '60 GT class winner, and Herb Deeks Cooper Mk. IX which i modified as a Cooper of Finnish driver Heimo Hietarinta. Former is one more great MFH kit (so far) and the later, well it seems to be more or less straight copy of an old Merit kit. Basicly everything on the Cooper is either heavily modified or sratchbuilt.

Very nice Niko! I haven't done anything other than some finishing work on my 1/12 F40. My sister in law now occupies my hobby room for a few weeks. :)

i've been modeling for a little while, and i noticed that when i apply decals, after they dry out they start to chip away. anyone have good advice for me? i use the decal sealer which is clear, but doesn't really do much.

    Hey Bradley,
decals should be applied on a smooth surface, glossy is better than flat.
But the most important thing is to use a softening solution (I use Mr. Mark Softer from Gunze, but there are others).
At first you apply the decal and let it dry.
Then the Softener comes over the decal. It becomes very soft and fragile (dont touch while it's wet) and after its dry it sticks to the surface.
Last step is a layer of clearcoat and it should look great.
    Best, Till.
p.s. google is your friend: modelersite or automotiveforums/modeling are a wonderful source

    Vettesrule,

I would recommend you strip the chrome. The easiest way is to soak the parts in Easy-Off oven cleaner for about 1-2 hours. Get the one that is regular, in the yellow can, it works better than the fume free stuff.

After that, wash the parts with dish soap and dry them. They then can be primered or directly painted if you wish.

I have been trying these new resin rivets on one of my old models and they work really good even after painting(little dots on numbers and cars tub). Here is my old 1/24th scale Hiro 312 1967 Monaco Bandini(modified from a 1968 Hiro 312 kit). No its not 1/20th scale.
